I saw this in the movie "Obsession" about radical Islam.

A lot longer than that. In Afghanistan a couple of our interpreters are also Islamic clerics. Nobody is for sure but the guesstimate on literacy rate in Afghanistan is about 15-25 percent. If you can't read the Koran for yourself then anyone (Taliban) can "read" it for you. Many of the villagers we talk to argue with our terps when they read straight out of the Koran. The Taliban conscript young males into their groups and indoctrinate them into believing what is the most useful for them.

Radical Islam has brainwashed people in the middle east for several decades.

The govt's are all islamic, and they control they media and education in the middle east. Brainwashing is an understatment.

We have an enemy that wants us dead. Radical Islam is that enemy. You cannot walk away from them and achieve peace. That is a sign of weakness. You cannot talk peace into them. Their very existence is founded in dealing death to the infidels. It is sad and disturbing that peace cannot be had until there is no radical Islam left.

Yes, I do, but it has to be noted this only accounts for a VERY SMALL amount of the Muslim faith. 99.9% of Muslims are not fanatical.

EDIT: Anyone who has given me a thumbs down has been brainwashed themselves. In every Muslim country there is a radical wing of Islam. Each radical wing, in each country, has its own political party. No radical political party, in any Muslim nation, has gotten over 3% of any vote.

In a religion that has over ONE BILLION followers, it would be ridiculous to think that the majority of them are radical. This just isn't true. I know people see those videos of Pakistani children being taught the Quran; moving back and forth while yelling scripture the entire time. That makes up 1% of Pakistan's population. Not all of those children will grow up to be radicals themselves. (I was brought up Christian, but am now an atheist).

The majority of radicals in Islam come from wealthy families. These families do not not make up the majority of the Muslim population. Far from it actually.

Please educate yourselves before you hate something.

The Muslim Brotherhood (based in Egypt) has been brainwashing young Muslims since 1920s. Bin Laden being one of their top followers. Notice how Bush hasn't mentioned the Muslim brotherhood ever & hasn't done anything to stop them in Egypt? The Muslim Brotherhood is the #1 terrorist teaching organization in the world & the US does nothing to stop them.

how about this when i say the church has brain washed the christian about Islam . the real thing is not what you see in your news papers and on your TV .you must try to find this by yourself .It is better to read Islamic literature and Quran to find about this fact that who is brain washing.

Yes. I watched it too. It's true, and we need to wake up to some realities that we don't want to. Alot of people just think that everybody around the world can be negotiated with, and understood. Couldn't be farther from the truth. Continue to educate yourself, and keep learning!
