Does anyone think "talking" to someone through mail, email or IM and getting to know them without physically meeting them can actually lead to a healthy, romantic relationship? Just wondering if this may have worked for anyone else out there because the men I meet in person just want to jump in bed before I have had enough time to get to know them.

Yes....it can work. That's how I met the woman I married 6 years ago. You DO have to wade through the trash to get to the treasure though. And it may take time.

Listen to yourself! I'm going to jump in bed with him before I even know him. I wish not to be disrespectful of your intentions, however you can fill in the phrase that you would call your very dear friend who just told you what you just said.

The other part about the net is that often times, people want you to think of who they want you to think they are, not who they are. So, if this guy wants to jump into bed, go for it. But I wouldn't hold my breath wondering what the hell happened to him when he's no longer talking or emailing or IMing you. Listen to yourself, get to know him, for more than a minute, hour or day. Slow down. If it's right, no harm no foul, just better because of the anticipation of the whole thing.

absolutely not. In this day and age you have to be crazy to participate in dating via the internet only. Be careful, there are too many nuts out there looking for prey.
