First off, Miniature Pinschers and Doberman Pinschers are NOT the same breed. There is no breed called the Miniature Doberman Pinscher! Any breed can be jealous. There is a big difference in the Doberman and the Miniature Pinscher. The best thing I can tell you is to research the two breeds, and find the differences before you go and get one. Especially, when you think they are the same dog, but different sizes. Do some research first!!!! Make sure you know what dog you are thinking about getting.

Oh yes, you very well can find a miniature pinscher for less than 500$. Price range varies, depending on what part of the country you reside. I know most around my area are 250-400.(this range doesn't include blues and fawns) I have a chocolate and I didn't pay 500 for him and he is an excellent dog. But...I will always say Buyer Beware. Don't buy the first pup you see. Just as you are shopping around for that pup, also shop for a breeder that you like and feel comfortable with. Also, make sure that this is the absolute breed for you. Do some research. Trust me it comes in handy! Before I got my first Min Pin I read everything I could get my hands on. I THEN decided it was the breed for me. Haven't looked back since!

First off, there is no such thing as a miniature doberman pinscher. The breed is a Miniature Pinscher (Mini Pin) and they are not at all related to Dobermans. That being said, they were bred to control rodents and like all vermin chasers, can be quite sharp or "bitey". They need good sound obedience training (like all dogs, really) to establish a good bond between dog and owner and make sure that YOU are the boss. All dogs have the potential to be jealous, but well trained ones are not a problem.

My neighbor has a mini doberman and he seems friendly enough. He took to our dogs right away without any fighting. As for jealousy, I suppose ANY dog can be jealous. It really depends on the owner. I dislike when people assume a pet's personality just because of the breed. I say just get her the puppy and see how it turns out. Good luck!

Min Pins and Dobermans are two different kinds of dogs. Dobermans were bred from Greyhounds and Rotties. Min Pins were here much earlier and were bred from mini Greyhounds and Dachshunds. Please, before you consider getting the dog, have your mom do research on the breed. Look on the Internet or in the library and have her read all she can about the breed. She should decide if she has the patience for the breed. Min Pins are very hyper and take a lot of patience to train. They are that way because they were bred to chase rats. Ask your mom if she thinks she can handle it. I really stress doing all this because I am a dog trainer and I have seen many people who get upset and impatient with their dogs. They didn't look at what they were getting into before they got the dog. Instead of looking at themselves in the mirror, they blame the dog and give it to the pound. That breaks my heart.

My Pinscher is evil! My mom has one and i hate her! She bit my 2 y/o son around 8 times already and she always barks at anyone who comes to the house or is outside we have to put her in a separate room when we have guests over the only person she loves is my mom and she accepts me but hates my baby 😕 sn: not saying all pinschers are the same , but definitely do your research , lily could be an example of what you can avoid now .

Miniature pinchers and doberman are very different breeds of dogs. If you do get her one make sure to get him from a good breeder who breeds them for temperment(look for a registered dog) and not a back yard breeder. A good breeder will only allow his best dogs to breed improving the breed(avoiding heriditory health issuse and nasty dispositions). A back yard breeder will take any 2 dogs(same or different breed) and let them breed with out looking into the back ground or even caring about the temperment of the dogs they intend to breed. Also NEVER buy from a petstore, the pups come from puppy mills(places that have very poor condtions and over breed for profit!)

we have a min pin. Abby is about 4 yrs. old. She is very barky and a bit of a spaz. She is very protective of us and our property. She doesn't get along with younger children at all!!! My kids love her but they are 17 and 20. Good luck with your decision.
