I just did not like being a marine, i think my recruiters tricked me. and i did not get kicked out for doing nothing really bad. i was just late to work a few times too many.

Your background investigator is going to ask you about it, so be honest and tell him/her exactly what happened.
It isn't going to help you, but depending on what your discharge report says, you may still have a chance.
I should warn you, that if the details of your discharge come out while you are still a probationer, you will have to put up with a lot of verbal abuse from your fellow officers.

It is probable not likely since most police agencies are "para-military" and if they think you can not make it in the military, then it is unlikely you can make it in a paramilitary organization.

Take to a lawyer with military experience. There is always a remote possibility that there can be a correction to military records. There is a committee that reviews your record and decides if it is proper.

Dishonorable discharge ... moved to Canada. Less than honorable or medical discharge, depends on the hiring agency. Honorable discharge ... you got a golden ticket as long as your criminal record is clean.

Besides, the cops bending regulations at leisure, who is to say they wouldn't again with you, if they're hurting for rookies doing the night shift?

And if you did not like the marines you most likely will not like being a police officer.
