First of all, Leviticus is to the Levitical priesthood. It contains the laws and statutes of serving GOD, especially the protocval for offering the certain types of sacrifices.

Leviticus 10 is judgement from disobedience.. Aaron's 2 sons had just been anointed as priests, they had been instructed on how to offer sacrifices and where the incense was to be burned.

They had just offered the first sacrifice and GOD had answered by causing fire to come down out of heaven to cnsume that first sacrifice.

Nadab and Abihu then did a really stupid thing. . . .lthey took something sacred that was meant for the holy place and put it on the alter where the animal sacrifice h as just been consumed in the sight of all the people AGAINST WHAT THEY HAD BEEN COMMANDED TO DO.

Fire from GOD consumed them in the sight of all the people! Their father Aaron was the High Priest and, under the instruction of Moses, who spoke to GOD as friend to friend, was commanded to stay at his post before the LORD and to not grieve the deaths of his sons until His duties to the LORD were completed.

Moses tells Aaron to not drink anything intoxicating when it was time for him or his remaining sons to serve the LORD in the tent of Meeting, LEST THEY DIE. This is a perpetual commandment for the Levitical priesthood. Don't go into the presence of GOD after you have been drinking, or you die . . .

Moses then tells Aaron's two remaining sons what to do with the remaining sin sacrifice , that they were to eat their portion of the sacrifice in the sanctuary after its blood had been put on the alter. He became angry to find that his instructions had not been followed . . that they had burned the sacrifice instead.

Aaron answered Moses saying it would not have pleased the LORD if he had eaten the sin offiering since he had not stopped his sons from trespassing in their duties, thus allowing them to sin.

Moses understood and was satisfied.

As I see this particular chapter of Leviticus, only Aaron-as high priest- was permitted to perform these particular rituals. I believe that verses 6-11, verse 1 and verse 3 explain the sins of Aaron's sons in this instance. God's holiness is unapproachable for the ordinary man and thus these sacrifices and the methods used during sacrifices were restricted to only the high priest. By assuming their father's authority and standing before God, they displayed pride and arrogance, resulting in God's judgement.

10:1, 2—What may have been involved in the sin of Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu? Soon after Nadab and Abihu took liberties in performing their priestly duties, Jehovah forbade priests to use wine or intoxicating liquor while serving at the tabernacle. (Leviticus 10:9) This suggests that Aaron’s two sons may have been under the influence of alcohol on the occasion here under consideration. However, the actual reason for their death was their offering “illegitimate fire, which [Jehovah] had not prescribed for them.”

What part of Leviticus 10 are you talking about?

Any part of the Old Testament applied to the Jewish people of that day. Christians are to follow the Summation of the Law given to us by Jesus, found in the New Testament.

As interior the context with the previous and following verses Paul is telling believers they favor not avert ingesting with or turning out to be a member of feasts with unbelievers yet provide thanks for what's placed formerly you and luxuriate in, do not ask if it replaced into sacrificed to an idol. in the journey that they grant the information of it being sacrificed to an idol then do not eat it for it would want to provide credence to the idol. As to lost or bumped off books of Bible there are none the Bible has all the books necessary to provide the information necessary to go back to understand the Lord. sure there are diverse books that would want to provide extra perception to the Bible and its teachings to boot as many who let us know extra about the early church and church heritage does not mean they were considered canon or were bumped off for they were not in canon the might want to not be bumped off. And if there is an argument that there have been 14 extra books in OT that were bumped off in case you do study you'll locate purely the 39 we've were canonized in ninety ad by Jewish Council to standardize practise for synagogues.

At that time, the LORD GOD was directing the Children of Jacob towards holiness so that Jesus Christ could come from among them according to His promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:3. From the time of birth of Jesus Christ, the Jews have ceased to be under such close guidance and scrutiny.

The Bible tells us: "For the wages of sin is death." Romans 6:23. The LORD GOD does not respect any one who disobeys His command. Even Jesus Christ who came in human form was not an exemption. He says: "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love." John 15:9&10.

GOD loves you, YES. Jesus loves you, YES. This is not a blind love. GOD does not condone lawlessness or rebellion. Nadab and Abihu flagrantly disobeyed GOD. They had to pay the price for that.

That tells me if God wants people to die he has no problem doing them in. One angel killed 185,000 of Sanicrabs men in one night.
The other thing wether they deserved it.
Seems in an earlier text they were raping women who came to offer sacrifices on the alter. They were drunks and payboys.
I guess God just got tiried of it.

God is a holy God. To offer worship which is improper, or contrary to his decretive will is an affront to his holiness. Its similar to why he rejected Cain's offering but accepted Abel's in Genesis.
