Hey Now...

My take on the cat situation is that he is getting to the
age where he wants to explore the glorious out doors...

I have 3 cats and they LOVE to explore...
I find them in the crazyest places...
Digger even went behind a wall in the basements
boiler room...
I went crazy ...
my Vet told me relax he will come out when he's hungry...
and he did...

I too, never let them out but they will sit in the bay
window or on the window sill reacting to everything
going on outside...

When they were little, they all tried to get outside for a
"look see"
I just shooed them back inside...
Digger actually got out 2 times and ran to my neighbors
back yard...
Now he doesn't even try to go out...

Relax and just be vigilant...
Your little guy will be fine..

As you can tell, Digger is my "problem child!!!"
LOL

Hi there...male cats begin to reach sexual maturity at 5 months. The hormonal changes creates a sense of interest to roam which is what your kitty evidently appears to be showing. To discourage this desire it helps to consider neutering as soon as possible. Any vet or local animal shelter can perform the procedure.

.At his age it is soon time to neuter. That usually cuts down on the rooming urge. As responsible pet owners though, when we have one that thinks he's an escape artist, we have to be on guard at all times when the door gets open
