I have normally thick hair, and I love it. Especially when it is long, but right now it is just passing my shoulders and i want it to be longer. I just recently had it cut and I am starting to get split-ends again, and I dont do anything ruff with it. I comb ( I dont like brushes) it before i go to bed and before i get in the shower in the mornings. I want it to grow, but it seems like it is taking forever.
Do you know of a way were I can let it grow (faster preferebly) and stay healthy at the same time? Without having to spend a butt-load of money.
Any ideas?

I do blow dry my hair and straighten it everyday, but saturday and sunday.
But i am pretty sure that isnt the reason for the damage. my mom (all her life) has had bad/damaged hair, but she takes very good care of it.
Would this by chance be genetic?
I use a low heat setting on the blowdryer and i'm easy with the curling iron (i use a curling iron to straightn my hair, because, well I dont know, i just do).
But like i said, im pretty sure that isnt the cause.

Try these Hot oil massages: Warm 2 tsp. of olive oil and 2 tsp. coconut oil and gently massage every part of the scalp for 10-15 minutes. Rinse a towel in hot water, wipe and wind the hair around the head as it cools. Repeat 2 or 3 times to issue total saturation. After that, shampoo and rinse well. It is good for brittle dry hair.

Hot Caster oil massage: Warm ½ cup of castor oil, massage into scalp and gently comb it. Bind the hair with hot towel on the head, wait for 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse. As it is home made is so good to use for scanty hair.

Clove oil honey massage. Stir well ½ cup of green olive oil with 1 cup of liquid honey. Shake vigorously. Keep the mixture to settle for a day or two. Massage into the scalp and comb it not touching the scalp. After massaging cover hair with plastic shower cap. Make it air tight to let the heat penetrate, leave like that for 20 to 30 minutes. Then shampoo and rinse well. It is good for dark hair to keep it shining and lustrous.

They will help in maintaining the natural sheen of your hair and will also condition your hair.

Take care!

B vitamins. Regular trimmings. Scalp massages *gets the blood flowing to the follicle* Try a vitamin Biotin *it is great for hair and nails* and you'll be in pretty good shape. Be patient. By the time you know it your hair will be longer. Don't forget to excersize and try not to straighten or anything that is damaging. Don't buy weird products, they don't work. Also, you can contact your hair stylist and she will probably tell you the same things. Good luck and healthy hair to you!

I have been taking hair supplements for the past 3 years and here is what I have found.
GNC makes a tablet called "Ultra Nourishair" in formulas for men and women, the pills are taken daily, 2 pills a day. They are HUGE and very hard to swallow, if you have any trouble at all with large tablets, then I wouldn't recommend these. The 2 pills also contain only 1200 micrograms total of Biotin, which is the main supplement needed for hair to grow faster and stronger. You should try to get a minimum of 2500 micrograms of Biotin daily to improve hair's rate of growth and its condition. Even though I took these GNC pills for 4 months, I wouldn't recommend them because they are not the most high quality pills available.
ProCaps labs makes a great supplement called "Hair Skin and Nails" formula, here is the link for that
http://www.procapslabs.com/pcl/pages/pro...
This is in capsule form and much easier to swallow. This company, ProCaps labs is also extremely reputable and carries pure and effective products.
I took GNC's Nourishair for four months, and supplemented it with extra Biotin tablets daily due to its low Biotin content. I took 2500 micrograms extra Biotin with the GNC pills.
The Procaps hair vites have 2500 micrograms of Biotin in them, and don't really require extra Biotin be taken, but I do take an additional 2500 micrograms of Biotin for a daily total of 5000 micrograms of Biotin.
My hair is growing in thick and dark and quite quickly. My hair used to be very slow growing, but all of these supplements have really made a difference.
The only way to really change the health of your hair is by taking supplements that work internally on the follicle where hair is made, any shampoos or oils or other topically applied things do nothing to change hair's structure, that can only happen with systemically provided support, which means supplements that you take internally.. Keep in mind, regardless of how many or how much you take of any supplement, hair is never going to grow at a "Jack and the beanstalk" type of rate, the most you can hope for is to improve the strength and health of each hair follicle and to see an incremental increase in the rate of its growth

long and strong garnier fruictise is a great shampoo that keeps hair super healthy so it grows faster. i used it when i was growing my hair out to my butt...and it only took me 4 months when my hair was past my shoulders and my friend started at the same length and it took her 6. its not expensive either.
