you know books like Enoch, Jubilees, Susanna, and Sirach

before someone starts harping on the religious crediblity of these books or lack there of. I dont care. I want to read these books to have a better understanding of the religious/cultural midset of the people of the people of that era.

so any suggestions?

There is a great rendition of it in the Oxford Bible with the Apocrypha. There is a brief commentary to guide you along with the text. I got mine from a thrift store (a second hand store) along with many other titles that have to do with the Bible and the times.

You can also get a version of it online.

You will not find Enoch there though. I also recommend Jubilees and the Book of Jasher.

There is a site that you can go to that has all and more of these writings. I will leave it as a source.

They are called the Deteurocanonicals. And there is no Jubilees.

Its the Duay Reims version, taken from the Latin Vulgate, and pre-dates the KJV. The missing books that were never missing are marked with an * aterisk * .

The whole bible (literally) is there, and it's free.

This is great to hear. And don't let others tell you not to read these books, or that they have any less relevance than the Holy Canon. I don't have a preferred version, most of them are complete, find one at your local library for free.

Not ot but gospel of thomas is my favorite.
