What is some type of cream or hairspray I can use on my hair when curling it that will hold a curl? I can't put anything too heavy on my hair because it would frizz up. Any ideas that would hold the curl, but not make my hair hard?
All races welcome to tell me what might work.

I get my hair flat ironed...It's about as long as Aaliyah's hair so it's pretty long. It's just when I curl it, the curl won't last.
I don't want a wet set because I want to be able to wear it straight or curl it when I want to.

Try Motions (at home) Hair and Scalp Daily Moisturizing Hairdressing or perhaps Profective. They aren't very heavy and allow my hair to hold curls- or you may want to try using spritz.

Try a little bit of hair wax. Don't use alot because it will make your hair look really greasy. I use this and It adds shine and my curls last for days.
Simply on Fresh washed hair apply a non greasy leave in, and on dry hair apply a little bit of wax on each section of hair you pick up to curl.
Also wraping wet hair with a wrap foam will help your curls last longer and take away some frizz. However, I know with hair that long it might be a pain to wrap hair.

Try using curl wax. And maybe invest in some marcel stove irons. The extra heat of the irons, mixed with the curl wax will make a nice curl that will last and have extra shine.

African American hair products could paintings with your hair yet you're able to be able to could test. in my opinion i exploit a mix of goods. i exploit a sprig oil sheen whilst my hair has some dry ends and a glycerine based product for daily. I brush it into the scalp and ends in the previous I %. it out. good success with your tries.

Lauren, I found these two links, just as a starter, with wonderful tips on hairstyles and caring for your hair. I think you will find them both useful because it isn't all about "products" but about caring for your hair. Even though we are black, we all have different strengths of hair and each one has to be cared for in a certain way. The last link gives common tips on simplifying your hair care regimen.
I hope you find them as useful as I did.
