Cockatiels! What are the signs of cockatiel laying eggs? and when will it happen?

Hey.. My male one goes in the nesting box and taps hard in it against the box. The female just look inside of it and does nothing. Is this a sign of them laying eggs? Are there more signs like this?

just before a female lays an egg she tends to look really poorly and Ill like she's going to die. This is usually a good sign for falcons anyway.
