Would seem the opposite to me. The faithful seem to treat life as the journey to heaven - that's a means to an end. I believe life is to be lived, here and now.

No. Non-theists are the only ones who can possibly love life, because they do not live for a world beyond the grave. Theists are death-seekers. It is written all over their scriptures.

I think you have it backwards. Religious folks use life as a means to an end.

Atheists only have life. Nothing afterwards.
