I have 2 12" Alpine Type R subs, but one is blown... how can i re wire the amp to put all the power to the other sub? Rather than having it split to both subs...?

It would all depend on which JL amp you have. If you have one of their mono amps (500/1, 1000/1) the will always have the same power 500x1 from 1.5-4ohms or 1000x1 from 1.5-4ohms. So if this is your case, just unhook the other sub. Now if you have the DVC 2ohm model then series it, don't parallel it (1ohm). And if you have the DVC 4ohm model then parallel it, don't series it (8ohm). Now if you have the A-series mono amp then with the DVC 2ohm model, then you'll have to series the sub to the amp (but you'll only get half the power). If you have the DVC 4ohm model, then you'll have to parallel the sub to the amp (you'll get full power from the amp). Now if you have a 2ch (slash series), then they will have the same power bridged from 3-8ohms. With the DVC 2ohm then series the sub to the amp, with the DVC 4ohm model series the sub to the amp. Either way you'll still get full power. Now with the A-series 2ch, the DVC 2ohm series the sub to the amp (you'll get full power) DO NOT parallel it. With the DVC 4ohm model you can series it to the amp (half the power) DO NOT parallel it. If you have any questions email me. Hope this helps.

Determine if you have a 2 or 4 channel amp. A 2 channel can be bridged to one channel, and a 4 into 2 or even 1 channel.
For ease ,let's use the 2 channel amp. You should see 4 connections: 2 + and 2 -. Let's label them A, B, C and D.
Locate the 2 wires coming out of your sub or speaker you're hooking up to the amp.
Back to the amp. A and C will be positive, and B and D negative. The easiest way is to connect the speaker wires to either A to speaker + and D to speaker wire -.
Sometimes your amp will have a diagram for bridging. If not, this should work.Make sure that the amp is not already bridged. Some amps are made up of two smaller, internal amps which are bridged. Test this by turning the amp on and measuring for voltage between the negative speaker output and your car's ground. If you get any non-zero value, your amp is already bridged and any further attempt to bridge it will end in extreme, smoke-filled unhappiness
