I heard this phrase in a movie made in India called Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. so if u speak Hendi please answer this question!!!

It's hackneyed (crappy!) use of Punjabi in a Hindi song. It's usage is kinda inappropriate -- they are just trying to give the song a generic Punjabi "feel." "shaava" comes from "shaabaash" (literally "bravo", "right on!", but here just like "Hey , hey!") maahiya is the vocative (calling/address) form of maahi, which literally means "buffalo herder/grazer" but which came to mean "lover" based on the fact that the hero-lover in several Punjabi romances has been a shepherd.

Its root is: Shaad Baash, Persian phrase meaning: Be Happy! that mixed & changed into Hindi accent!

i'm not sure what it means but i'm pretty sure they're not singing about a corpse in that song! btw, i LOVED that movie!! :)
