I jad a baby six weeks ago and haven't had a period yet. My boyfriend is coming to visit me this week and I need to do something because I don't want to get pregnant again. We have used condoms before but we got pregnant so we don't really trust them. Is there someother birth control that I can use even if I haven't had a period yet?

You probably haven't had your period because you are still breast feeding. If you want an honest word of advice - I really am not judging - but you say you had a baby 6 weeks ago? Just because your bf is comng over doesn't mean you actually have to have sex. Abstain until you can get on a reliable birth control. Honestly... if he is going to have a problem with you making an adult decision to say 'no' to sex, then you need to really question why he is visiting you. There is nothing that will work 100%. So, by having sex you are making the conscious decision to have another child because common sense tells you that ANY birth control on short notice is not 100%. You have to think about you and your newborn with an adult attitude. Until you are on reliable birth control, sex should be out of the question. Isn't there other things you can do besides having sex?
Bottom line is...if you don't want to get pregnant again, then don't have sex.

i think it takes a little while longer for your body to readjust from having a baby to get back to a normal period. if u must have sex then u must use a condom and if it does break again then go to the chemist straight away and get the morning after pill. i think there are forms of birth control that lactating woman may be able to use but go see your doctor.

I'm amazed that your ready. Kudos for you since you feel that good!

You can become pregnant if you've ovulated. You can ovulate while your nursing, I would recommend using a condom with spermicide, along with another form of contraceptive. If you really don't trust condoms, you could just go for plan B.

Six weeks and you are willing? I'd want to use a baseball bat if I were you (on him). I understood that the hormones that cause you to lactate prevent you from getting pregnant again while nursing, but never experimented to prove/disprove the theory.

If you are that fertile, I would use multiple kinds of protection. By that, I mean like a vaginal sponge, condom (s), and a spermicide.

Stick with the condom. You have no choice, unless you want Irish twins!
