Basically we are talking of the difference between Religion & Spirituality.

In this case, I will assume Religion teaches of one God, a Supreme Being. We are taught that there are given truths & rituals of that religion, one & only one true faith, which must be followed if we wish to avoid certain, negative consequences. Our discipline comes from outside ourselves. They teach us it is dangerous to think for ourselves in many instances. We are judged by that God (& usually by the people of the common faith). Faithfulness to the faith promises a definite, specific reward.

Spirituality has no set truths, no specific set of guidelines, no specific method, no specific outcome for specific behaviors. It is strictly a process, a journey each takes toward personal enlightenment & meaning. Our own efforts determine our spiritual fitness & quality of life. We learn self-discipline through practice. Along this journey we have the choice to either choose a God or something else. The choice is infinite, limited only by our level of enlightenment.

Religion always left me cold, & for a long time my life had no meaning. Friends convinced me to try a spiritual (not religious) path. I read & meditated a lot. I came to realize we were given brains for a reason. Eventually I chose a god of my understanding that I choose to call God. I have not tried to define & limit God For me, mine works without a specific faith. For others, their spiritual life does not require a Supreme Something, & that works for them. Others go back to their places of worship because that is what works for them. To have a truly deep faith, we must make that personal choice. When we truly make that personal choice, we have no need to impose our beliefs on others. Peace.

Think about this. Do you think an ant recognizes humans as a superior being? That's about the level of understanding that man has when he tries to explain God. It's just so far beyond our comprehension that we will never comprehend it. And a preacher standing up at a pulpit doesn't know either. He's just repeating what somebody told him. So yes you can be spiritual without believing in God. For all I know God is nothing more than an alien life form that's just a few million years advanced from us.

Every person has a soul or spirit. Hence, every person can be spiritual. You can just look up the word in the dictionary. Or investigate Hindus or Buddists. Both of these religions involve spiritualism but not a supreme being.

You can believe in an entity other than god, or consider polytheism. Consider buddhism whic doesn't believe in a single entity that controls the universe.

Presumably religion deals with concepts beyond our feeble understanding, so for humans to try to define the limits of religion is contradictory to the concept itself.

I believe that there is something more than just what science and technology tell us there is, but I do not know for sure whether there is or is not a God, and if there is, what his/her nature is. In other words, I do not think science has all the answers, but I don't think religion does either.

Jesus became into very conscious that He became into equating Himself with God contained in the various stuff he did and suggested and reserved and proclaimed. He does not supply us the alternative of finding out that he's a sturdy guy, or a prophet, or an angel, or the rest. Our basically decision is to return to a variety no count number if or no longer He became into God or a liar or a nut activity.

It is possible for someone to believe in a spiritual reality, but limited to finite spirits, denying an absolute, infinite, self-existent spirit, who is the creator, sustainer, and prime mover of all, which we call God.

You can believe in the goodness of people and have faith in oneself. God doesn't need to be a part of that kind of spiritualism.

being spiritual is a feeling of connection ... a feeling that there is something more than just us ( for some that is God for some it is something else )
being spiritual helps us to work together as a race ... to love each other in that connection
