New Zealand. Your land.
A land you live in,
A land to experience and explore.
From mountains to the sea,
To forests, to the lakes, and to Grandma’s;
This is your New Zealand.
A land of contrasts and surprises,
Like battered lamb.
Where the bounty of the sea can be bought off the back of a truck off the back of a ute,
And ‘round every corner there’s a toothless smile waiting to buy you a cold beer.
Yes, glorious New Zealand,
As beautiful as a toilet* and as green as the kids after a coastal road.
It’s New Zealand; where else would you find action, adventure, solitude, romance and the kiwi, apart from a good dictionary?
Travel this great country of ours; it’s not a trip, it’s a journey
From A to B via C, here and here, to see this, and this, and these** (whatever they are).
Yes, we live in the best country in the world; well for miles, anyway.
So come on, New Zealand, check out this must-do list on this web site,
And tell us what makes New Zealand New Zealand!
[in a choked tone] I love you, New Zealand. Aw…
(*this is a Kiwi in-joke - see Kawakawa)
(**Moeraki Boulders)
Hate the bigots who can't deal with other ethnicities/nationalities.

I have been five times to NZ and everytime I go I like it more. I love the outdoors but I would say the chilled, relaxed atmosphere is the best part... you just feel you are not in planet earth anymore. Kiwis are truly friendly as if all of them had "farmers hearts" ;)
Probably the only thing that is not so good is that even that people are great, sometimes it's not so easy to enter "the group of friends". People have good friends from school or varsity or work... but trying to meet people out of those circles is not that easy, you can get a nice chat but not often a friendship.
Of course I'm just generalizing... I have very good kiwi friends and they are fantastic!

I love the isolation from the rest of the world. Outside Auckland it's basically another country with Europeans in the majority.
But Auckland is grossly overcrowded with expensive housing caused by immigrants from every nation moving here. Speaking English is now purely optional. Suburbs like Chowick & Thailand Park.

what I love and hate about NZ is that it is so far, I am Belgian!
love the dolphins, green stones, Maoris, rugby, kiwis of all kinds: bird, fruit, folk and the sheep and the horses, not necessary in this order, though...
Hate myself to be jealous of all those kiwis, the fun of the folk, the greenest of the fruit and the rarity of the bird.
