Please show your concerns by signing the petition regarding this lack of kids music.

They Might Be Giants has 2 childrens' albums and corresponding books on the market and a third coming out next year, I think.

The two already on shelves are called
"Bed, Bed, Bed."
and
"Here Come the ABCs"

This is a quality piece of kids' work by a very grown-up band...

I don't see how signing a petition is going to have any effect. A petition is not an artist, and a petition does not force an artist to change his art to attract a new audience.

What needs to happen is that people ought to buy the stuff that is on the market, encouraging more artists to try the genre in order to make a living...

I think there is still a lot of children's music out there, but music programs are often cut in public schools for monetary reasons. Too bad. Music is an important part of life!

I have been told that the push toward "multiculturalism" has prevented music classes from teaching what used to be the familiar children's songs like "Old MacDonald" and "She'll be comin' round the mountain." Pity, that's what I grew up with!

little ones are in a hurry to advance up. little ones hate to be talked all the way down to. we stay in a young children-worshiping society. if there have been extra market call for for little ones' music, there should be extra.

I completely agree. Schools are completely cheep scoundrels. Cutting art, band, and choir programs. It's an outrage. And all for what? Just so they bring home more money! B.S.
