Australian States are really much the same except the landscape may be different or some places are hotter or colder
they all have the same values as each other
some may have more night life or better public transport etc
Queensland has so called free hospitals but because of heaps of people coming here every week there is now a longer waiting time if you need knee surgery etc & we are getting short of water & we are on water restrictions because of the drought & no planing for all the people coming here
so there you have some information about our great country Australia

Melbourne: Cheaper in comparison to Sydney, wages are also meant to be higher, entertainment is fantastic always something to do and there is always stuff open at any hour. Nightlife is awesome, city is very cosmopolitan, also Melbourne is pretty safe and has a distinct culture unlike any other Australian city. Melbourne is also not too far from beaches and also not too far from skiing in winter.

Adelaide South Australia. (For those people who don't know that we exist)
Why:_ We are more like a country town compared to the bigger cities like Melbourne and Sydney but look at our city. Where else can you go where you drive 20mins in one way and you are at the beach or 20mins in another way and you are in the hills. From where I live (which is 35 mins from the city) all I have to do is drive 10mins down the road and I'm at the beach, and drive about 10mins and I'm in the country. We have it both ways here. You can live the city life and you can still get in touch with country life too. And we have the world famous Maslins Beach here too. for the nudists.

Depends what you like doing and what your interests are.
If you like a big busy city then Sydney
Darwin - hot & tropical
Melbourne - wet/rainy - shopping, theatre, dining, supposedly cosmopolitan
Adelaide - city of churches??
Brisbane - warm, sunny, surfing
Perth - beautiful one day - perfect the next!!!
Hobart - bit chilly, quiet & rural.

it really depends on your work and lifestyle situation. the benefits of living in sydney is that its a diverse place. and there are always loads of things happening. everything is here eg. schools, hospitals, specialist health requirements and lots of fun stuff to do, and you can pick and choose if you are after a particular thing, eg, food, dance, music. there are of course disadvantages of living in a large city but i think sydney is diverse enough to cater for most people

I would say Bunbury in the south west of WA. It is quiet enough to be able to sleep comfortably and big enough to be able o have the lxury of Perth styled shopping and other activities. It is also only a train trip frm Perth

Any of the larger towns mate-get outside of the larger towns and you will be dodging considerable Wallaby and Kangaroo poop.
