Love is nothing that should be taken for granted. When you finally find it, cherish it. You may never feel that way again for any other girl. If you do, then it wasn't really love. Love can be the greatest thing you've ever felt in your whole entire life, or love can make you regret every decision you've made ever since it entered your life. I guess the real question is, are you willing to put your feelings up at risk for someone? Are you willing to let your guard down, and open your arms up to that person you believe is your soulmate? Maybe it depends on the person. Maybe it depends on the person and their experiences with love. Some people believe in love, and they're the lucky ones. The people who experienced love and were unsuccessful would probably give up on the idea of love, and live only for themselves. Here's another question that comes to mind: Does love truly exist? As I said, it depends on the person and their experiences.

Let's say for example there's this man who fell in love with the most perfect girl in the whole entire world. He was willing to sacrifice everything for her. He left his friends, he lost time for other things, he did all this just so he could devote all of his time to making her happy. Because whenever he was with her, whenever he saw her smile, whenever he hugged her or kissed her tender lips, he just felt like he was in paradise. And when he's not with her, he misses her like crazy. He leaves her roses on her doorstep at random times, with notes saying, "Just because I was thinking about you, I love you so much." This is what he sacrificed everything for. He was looking forward to spend a thousand lifetimes with her, even as long as an eternity. He planned his future with her. At this point, many people would believe that love is the greatest thing to ever enter their lives. Countless memories being made between the two, both happy and sad.

Even if there are sad memories, what counts is that they stuck through it together, and they were willing to do whatever possible to keep the feelings strong. To keep the feelings growing with every moment that passes by. But then one day comes. That one dreadful day, when his significant other decides to take a break with him, and even goes as far as deciding not wanting to even see each other for a really long time. Here comes the conflict with the earlier belief. This man just sacrificed everything for her. This man did everything he could to make her happy. Just to put that glow in her smile. Granted, the girl did her part also, doing whatever she could to make the man happy. But she says the feelings just died. Nothing hurts more than a heartbreak. Nothing hurts more than that, it's undeniable. It destroys your insides completely, especially if you were extremely serious with the girl. All those memories you made, all the gifts you received, that's all you have anymore.

The only thing you have to accompany you at night is images of your significant other. You sometimes reach out at night just to feel her touch one more time. Just to taste those lips of hers one last time, before you let her go. You try and cope, but it's hard. You really loved the person, but there's nothing you can do about it now. Love can be cruel sometimes, and you can't stop caring about them. Then you find out the most horrible thing in the world: she has feelings for someone else. This makes everything even harder on you. You still love them, you still want to be with them, and it just kills you to think about all those things you did with your significant other. All those things are going to be done with that other person, and you can't do anything about it.

For a while, I thought about love. And I really truly think that love is just an escape from loneliness in life. Love is what helps keep people sane in their lives, and keep them from thinking about death. Sometimes, people will be more willing to accept death, because they'll repeatedly tell their significant other that they will stick with them forever and ever until the end of time, even after they're in the afterlife. So I guess, love has many different meanings to different people. The meaning which you choose to accept all depends on you, and solely you.
