I see a lot of arguments for illegals saying that they come for a better life and whatever other nice reason you can think of.
How sure are you that all illegals are just out for a better life? Explain for me then the large numbers of heinous criminals who are illegals, or how about those idiots in the protest marches shouting for a foreign country (Mexico) and denying/insulting the country they are in (USA)? Is this your vision of "illegals getting a better life"?
If you (like me) know that not all illegals are good people, how would you weed out the nice people (who I hope are the ones you want to support) from the scum? Are you psychic?, Have some new gadget for catching criminals that you'd want to sell?
If you are incapable of knowing who among the illegals is good and who is evil, are you still willing to risk allowing all illegals to remain and/or keep the borders open? Why/Why Not?

To some pollsci major... typical pro-illegal supporting nonsense. Does my question have anything to do with the Pilgrims?
I value my freedom as much as the next man/woman, but I dont show my appreciation by insulting the country I am currently in.
To Carol R and that person after you... did I say that I support all Americans. Am I blaming illegals for everything? Unlike you I do not paint whole peoples with one stroke of the brush. And once again, you've avoided my question.

c_sense_101... thank you for restoring my faith in the intellectual capability of illegal-immigrant supporters...
to tanya c... sorry I have to make an total fool out of you but:
1.) I am not a Minuteman or American, nor am I old. You dont know me... and you cant see me, so please refrain from calling me something unless you can back it up.
2.) Do not lecture me on who is the bigger criminal (illegal or American)... that was never the intention of this question. If you are too lazy to read... the whole point of my question is: Are you 100% sure of what you are doing?

There are many levels of support.
Most of us who "support" them, do not argue that the borders should just be thrown wide open, or even that they should be allowed to stay.
Most of us "supporters" just want an immigration policy that doesn't treat them *all* like they were murderous thieves and drug dealers. That image is one born out of racism.
(And by the way, if you listen closely to those "idiots" in the protest marches ... that is what they're saying ... they are angy that white Americans treat them like vermin.)
The vast majority *do* come here for no more criminal a purpose than to find work and better their lives and those of their families. Yes, I'm sure of that, and yes I know they are not *all* good people. But when we are not "psychic" (as you say) and unable to tell the good people from the scum, you don't just treat them all like scum.
So at the very least ... catch them, stop them, deport them ... but don't *hate* them ... they are doing what they have to do.
If we would do what we have to do ... prosecute the rich white farm growers and factory owners who are providing the jobs ... aiding the economies in their countries (instead of pouring it by the billions into that rathole called the Iraq war) ... *then* they would stop coming here.
It's the dripping *racism* on this part of YA that I object to.
Example: On another post, someone discovered that his Australian neighbor was illegal, and asked if he should report her. The "Best Answer" was somebody who said that he should report her if she is "hyspanic", but not if she is Australian.
Racists suck.

Okay first of all you should know that I am an illegal supporter. But before you judge me, listen to my story. I know that there are illegals that cause problems in some places like california. BUT, also there are black americans that cause problems everywhere, there is white trash everywhere that causes problems, etc. You see what I am saying? It's not just Mexicans, Guatemalans, and other illegals. All types of people cause problems like rape, murder , robbery, etc. no matter the race, or legalness of a person, there is always a Bad apple in every group. Anyway- another reason that I support illegals is that My husband is one. He is a very good person, he is a wonderful husband and father. And a hard worker. He applied for papers almost a year ago, then went back to Mexico to wait, and he is still in Mexico waiting for them! Our lives are very difficult without each other, only because he needs a piece of stupid paper! I go visit him every 3 months, but it's getting too expensive! So that is why I am pro for illegals. Also I have alot of really good friends that are illegals.

Cufin, thank you for your insight here as a Mexican citizen. I hope more Mexicans will stand up as you are.
To those who support illegal immigration because they are in love with and/or are married to illegal immigrants, your opinion doesn't count here because you are too biased and are only thinking of yourselves and not what is best for the whole of the USA.
To those who say that the USA has lots of their own USA born criminals, I say to you that those USA born criminals ARE our responsibility, but we should NOT be responsible for criminals from other countries - those criminals should only be the responsibility of their own countries. If they had not come here, they would not have hurt or devastated American citizens. Sure, they may have still committed their crimes, but they would have committed those crimes in their own countries, not in the USA and so our people would not have been hurt by them and our citizens would not be having to deal with them in our criminal justice system and with our tax dollars to house them in our correction facilities.
As far as I am concerned, the only way to weed out the bad from the good is to strictly enforce our immigration laws and deport ALL illegal immigrants and build the fence. Any who are deserving should apply through the legal procedures back in their own countries, as they should have done in the first place. The citizens of the USA are not responsible for all of the poor of the world and cannot afford to support all of the poor of the world.

either some people can't read or else they don't understand what they read judging from the answers I have seen here, I am married to a Mexican girl and have a lot of friends who are Mexican, and I do feel sympathy for most Mexicans and feel they should be given priority on immigration, since we did take the western half of our country from them, so I feel if we owe anyone any thing it would be the Mexicans, yet we bring the Islanders and Africans in here and they are yelling for their welfare checks before the get off of the boat, but, I feel all illegals should be sent back to Mexico and the return in a legal fashion, and in response to some on answers who say how do we tell the criminals from the others and that we have a home grown variety our selves, they are right but if the immigrants are checked out by the immigration authorities then we will have a better Chance of weeding out the undesirables ,and the ones who are yelling viva Mexico and own with America should be on the first batch shipped back to Mexico or where ever they come from, I also feel the Muslims are the ones we should export first by all means since they are our worst enemy's and their religion speaks for it self, so don't try giving me this B,S, they are a peaceful people or their religion is a peaceful religion. read it for your self ,

If they want to come to this country do it the legal way. The fact that you are entering the county illegally (criminal status) speaks volumes. Sure you are here to work, but why not come on a WORK VISA, those are granting to ALL immigrants! The fact that you refuse to get a WORK VISA lends weight to the argument that you are here to filter our money back into your country. While living off of our government and taxing ALL of our businesses and education system because we have to hire bi-lingual people to communicate with them because they refuse to learn the language. NO OTHER race entering this country (the vast majority legally) have we had to make these kind of exceptions to but the Mexicans. Then there's the new dilemma what are we to do when they deliver there children on US soil, however the parents remain illegal immigrants. My suggestion would be if a illegal immigrant gives birth in the hospital, and the hospital's aware of their status; then we should give that child the status of their parents. NO CITIZENSHIP! After all.. had their parents not entered the country ILLEGALLY then they would be born on their native soil. because t post uncensored comments on www.whointhehellcares.com; and suggest topics for debate

I have meet a lot of people from Mexico, so nice, others are @$$ holes, but all in all they need to come here legally.
Cufin01 - We all like your response, I would like to see you make some more posts on this forum. I personally believe Mexico needs to have a change in government to make it a better country. I believe you have the resources, but you don't have the leaders to guide you. I honestly wish the best for your country, but I feel it will take people like your self to rise up against the corruption and take back your country.

American Immigration laws are in place for the right reasons, to control in a legal manner the influx and character of America's non- citizen immigrants from around the world. I am 100% sure that my support of current American immigration laws is the right thing to do. None may convince me otherwise, no matter what they may say.

really don't know everyone.I never have been in favor of just granting amnesty to every illegal in the U.S but rather to having them register and do a background check on them to see if they have previously been convicted of any crime.I'm sure that would be faily simple to do with all the technology we have though I will admitt it would be time consuming.Once that is done then the ones who have a clean record thus far should be asked to take other steps on their way to getting a citizenship, such as knowing how to read, write and speak in english at least at a 5th grade level.just enough to be able to communicate with others, and for the ones who don't pass they should be deported.and btw I could also reverse this question and ask you how are you so sure about all the anti immigrant people that you stand by with?I mean if people from congress like foley can turn out to be such sickos and nothing like what they seemed like, perhaps you also might be standing by someone who is nothing at all what they portray themselves to be like.Snakes tend to hide themselves in many places and on both sides of every argument.

Hi
I am from Mexico, living in Mexico
I used to be against all you said about the issue but now I get you more since my fellows go there trying to find easy money. Some of them got not good intentions as you said, they just want EASY MONEY and they don't care if they get it committing crimes.
I don't know why they go to US streets to demand to make legal something ILLEGAL and specially insulting to a country where they are living. No one asked them to cross the border.
If someone calls you racist next time, let me tell you a this story. Sometimes I cross border LEGALLY with my tourist visa and I go shopping and in stores I find Mexicans, I don't know if they are legal or not , I don't care but they are more racist than real US people. They treat you like crap as they were superior to you. You know they speak spanish (clearly, OBVIOUSLY) and they pretend they don't get you and when you speak english they don't get you at all. If you are in a store they don't pay you attention at all and for my surprise the nicest are the white people, the gringos they dislike too much.
I don't know if you know about this case but a woman is hiding in a church, I don't know where for avoid to be taken by authorities..that was a perfect blackmail and the worse is she sent her son to cry and ask mercy to Mexico for Mexico government ask mercy to US. For me that was disgusting because she used her son, her son is US citizen but still she used him.
And guy they tell you (specially the Mexicans) that they go to get a better life and life sucks in Mexico but how is possible that millions and millions can survive in Mexico? Simply because those millions are willing to work and don't look for easy money.
That's all I have to say and I don't care to be accused of traitor, I just said the whole truth about my Mexican fellows.

We need a creative alternative for responding to this conflict -- we can't just let anyone in who might hurt others. We owe others protection too.
And your right we should watch what groups we support. What "ALL" they stand for. I do not support a group just because it has a few things I like. Or because it benefits me and not others. That would be selfish.
The price of true greatness is responsibility. And we all need to act responsible to all . And if that means very strong safety measures--so be it! There is a price to pay for security -and some might not like the outcome. But we have to do what we can for the benefit and safety of those who are citizens of this country.
In an ideal world maybe we wouldn't have too-but our world is not ideal . If it were you wouldn't have to watch your children against others, lock your house or car -we do that for protection too.
