My pharmacist told me that one CAN take Aleve and Tylenol together because they are different preparations, and they CAN work synergistically to (1) reduce inflammation [Aleve] and (2) relieve pain [Tylenol]. This combination is the only treatment that used to help my daughter with severe menstrual pains.
What you CAN'T do is combine Aleve with aspirin-type or other types of ibuprofen medications. Tylenol is different. Follow the label directions on BOTH products.

After foot surgery my doctor told me I could take 2 Aleve and 2 Tylenol to replace the strong pain killer that I was put on right after surgery that made me constipated. I took this every 4 hours for a bit then cut it back to every 6 hours, then cut back to one of each every 6 hours, then as needed. It worked fine, but I don't have any liver issues. You shouldn't take this combo if you have any liver issues.

Actually it is safe to take the two combined for short term pain relief. If you have a toothache I advice that you see a dentist as soon as possible. For a toothache though you may see better results with taking 800mg of ibuprofen along with a normal Tylenol dose. 800mg is prescription strength and you can take it every six hours, while alternating with Tylenol every 3 to 4 hours. The two medications in combination together work best for toothache, unless you have a prescription pain medication. then you can take ibuprofen with loratab

Yup! I've done this plenty of times throughout my life when I was in pain or if I am looking for a good nights rest and I am as healthy as a horse. It wont hurt. I'm serious. They are two different types of meds.

If, you are just having minor pain just take 2 IbPs and 1 tylenol extra strength. That should get you through the day without bugging you too much.

IF you feel like a miniature sized cave man is inside your mouth clubbing your gums to death, then I would suggest taking 3-4 of the IbPs and 2 of the Tylenol extra strength (IbP 1 tablet = 200mg; Tylenol 1 tablet= 500mg...now do the math). According to my doctor, who prescribed me IbP 800mg per pill. It wont kill you unless you abuse them. This I guarantee after 20 minutes you will feel like a million bucks. Do this only in extreme cases and no more than once in a day. And dont even think about making this a daily ritual...Unless you dont intend to keep your liver.

This is for anyone who wants to know.

My allergy doctor told me to take 2 tylenol and 2 aleve to help suppress my nagging cough. He said together they do the same as the prescription cough medicine with codeine.

Imagine for a moment your arthritis completely vanishing right now.

If, in a moment, your pain and stiffness melted away. And your joints all of a sudden functioned like a well-oiled machine.

Like a magic wand was waived, you'd be able to jump up from your chair and run around the room like a kid.

And imagine that you'd never have to suffer as much as a pinch of arthritis stiffness or pain ever again.

I know this sounds impossible right now, but bear with me, because sometimes miracles happen.

It was a gift from a woman on the other side of the world. From the kindness of her heart, she took pity on my suffering and taught me how to completely reverse my arthritis.

Today, I want to do the same for you!
