I do. my husband and my oldest daughter also do this. the lighter doesn't work very well in my car any more so i try and light the next cig with the last cig to avoid distraction. my son gets rides with his sister and told her that she shouldnt smoke while driving. she got mad at him. so she now closes all the windows and refuses to empty her ash tray. she tells him that if he wants a ride he must deals with her. my husband eats macdonals, smokes and talks on his phone while driving. he has gotten in too many accidents. i think he should stick with one or the other. do you smoke while driving?

yea i do alot while i am driving, i dont smoke as much though but i have had a cigg while taking those long trips the lighter in the truck does work but its to much of a distraction so we just use a regular lighter and keep all the windows roll down while smoking, i also tend to talk on the phone but not as much now, i do tend to eat at fast foods while driving but something small and simple. but i only do one thing at a time if i am going to talk on the cell phone i have the cell phone on speaker so i can have both hands on the wheel as far as eating i normally just eat fries so i can always have one hand on the wheel but i wont talk and eat at the same time or smoke and eat at the same time. I think it does cause alot of accidents so i have cut back alot while driving cause its one last thing i really need to worry about.

I smoke while driving, but that's it I drive & smoke. If I am on the cell phone I use the speakerphone. Of course I live in a small town where to advoid traffic you just jump off main street because the back roads don't have any traffic. If I drove it a city absolutely not I would not smoke would not talk on my cell and I definately wouldn't eat or drink I don't do that anyway.

Hi,

Great post! Quitting smoking was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life, and I thought I wasn't addicted!

Here's what I tried before finding success: hypnosis, those fake cigaretts, the nicotine patch, and group therapy....none worked.

I finally tried this HERBAL patch I bought 6 months ago on the net. They claim a 97% success rate. Well, it worked! They had a sweet deal which was a free 10 day trial for only $3.95 including shipping (it's regularly $53 for 10 days)!!

I don't know if they still have that deal, but it's worth a try.

Anything you do while driving takes your attention away from the driving task. Video tape your ride to work, it may surprise you how many close calls you have in just one trip. But to answer your question, no I don't smoke while driving or otherwise. If I answer my cell I pull to the side of the road.

I'm always multitasking while driving, especially in traffic. But if the weather is bad, or it's dark I take it easy. I pay close attention to speed limits and what's going on around me if I'm doing anything more than smoking.

Yeah I smoke while driving. Statistically smokers get in more accidents, they say. You really should get that lighter fixed--chain smoking and driving has to up your chances of getting in an accident.

I quit smoking, but i used to smoke while driving. It was my favorite time to smoke, because the second hand smoke would go out the window. Funny thing, i was a smoker, but hated to breathe the second hand smoke.

I found that it is not reasonable or logical for an intelligent life form to place any combustible material into a hole in ones body and set it alight. I don't smoke.

Yes, I multitask well while driving, especially when stuck in traffic. If the weather's bad or I'm in an unfamiliar area, I will limit the non-driving activities to one at a time.
