I just had a root canal done and the endodontist started me on antibiotics last night. It hurts like a lot but the headache and other symptoms have me down even more.

You better believe it can!! My wife had the very same symptoms just two weeks ago, and it was all brought on by a very abscessed lower molar! Once she had it removed, all the other symptoms you mention disappeared! If you're having the same, get in to see a dentist first thing Monday morning! This can cause some serious complications in your body if you don't get it taken care of!

It sounds very much like you are getting Migrane Headaches. Anyone that has had one or suffers, like I do, with everyday Migranes knows they are more than just a headache. It is hard to explain to someone the extreme pain and other symptoms that relate to a Migrane. I have been told that most Doctors believe that during a migraine, blood vessels on the surface of the brain expand, causing the area around them to become inflamed and irritate nerve endings. This dilation (expansion) and irritation may account for the pain you experience during a migraine. It may also lead to nausea, sensitivity to light and sound, and other symptoms associated with a migraine. The other symptoms I get are spots in front of my eyes and loss of a certain percentage of vision. Migranes are usually on one side of the head but can include the whole head. The eyes can ache, sinus area and a very sharp stabbing pain are also associated with Migranes. If you are getting more than two a year or if you have never had one and are now getting the symptons stated above, you need to see a Specialist, a Neurologist, to check to make sure you do not have anything else happening.

Tooth Pain And Nausea

Yes, especially if it is an upper tooth. The infection from the tooth can enter your sinus cavities and that is what causes the headache and lightheadness. You have obviously let this tooth go for awhile. (I am not judging you, I have done the same thing in the past). Get ahold of the dentist and get some anitbiotics. Then get that tooth fixed.

Probably. I know it can cause nausea and a headache. Don't know about lightheadness, but I'd guess it could.

dental pain can cause many different symptoms but i would call your dentist to fully review your symptoms to be sure you don't have an antibiotic allergy
