I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems.
Some RAM/hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful. Try this site, if you can get what is required.

There are a number of reasons why your computer is running slowly.

1) It could be loaded with little programs running like adware and spyware which will really slow you down.

2) certain anti-virus programs that run all the time can slow your computer, especially if you don't have a lot of ram.

3) You need to clean up your hard drive and delete unnecessary files on your computer - all regular maintenance tasks that some people never do.

4) Delete all unnecessary programs, files, etc on your computer. Your computer needs at least %20 free disc space to operate at an optimal level. If your drive is too full you will experience loss of functionality.

5) You could have a virus or something nasty. Have you scanned your computer recently?

If it is none of the above, you probably have to have someone look at it and check it out.
