We've been friends for a little over two years. We've only been together a few times in person since being introduced but we talk a lot online. The other night he came to see a play that I was doing the lights for, and then when I was waiting for my ride he put his arm around me and kissed my cheek and then kissed me on the lips goodbye. I asked later why he did and he said he didn't know, but he'd like to see me again. So I've been trying to keep in contact with him, sending him IMs and txting him now and then, but the problem is that sometimes he just never responds and when he does I'm not sure what he means by it? I've liked him for a really long time, so its really messing me up. Half of the time he talks to me a lot and seems really into me, but other times its like he's trying to ignore me? Should I keep trying to talk to him, or should I wait and see if he comes to me? Or should I just ask him flat out what's going on? I don't want to seem clingy, but I want him to talk to me.

You should ask him what's going on. Explain to him that you like him a lot, and that you're confused about the way he acts around you. Ask him if he likes you or not, and to please stop playing games, because that could very well be what he's doing. If he's the player type, don't even try to get with him, because he's a waste of your time, he'll just break your heart.

He is obviously interested in you if he kissed you on the cheeks and lips. I think hes playing hard to get, because he doesn't want to seem too clingy and scare you away.
Sometimes guys have trouble reading if a girl likes him or not. Just keep flirting, TOUCH him on the arm a lot, smile at him, and if you are confident, you be the one to ask him out.

he definitely likes you, and those mixed signals are probably just him trying to tell you something but cant quite get it out. Or it could be something else but i think he really likes you

ask him what is going on that seems to the only way that you will find out anything. his kissing you shows that he is somewhat intreseted so just ask him.
