Okay, me and my ex are still best friends, and I found the perfect gift for her, but I don't know if I should get it for her, I've been having second thoughts if I should or not, would it drive her away? She still cares about me, and I still care about her.

Okay, let me say this now, before there is a ton of people saying this, I'm not doing this to win her love. I'm doing this because she is special to me and I want to, but I don't want to drive her away.

A gift given to anyone from your heart is a gift given correctly. No second guessing about it, now. Just give it to her from your heart and that honesty in itself will explain every bit of you to her. If you need a barrage of words, thing twice before you give a second gift. But completely enjoy giving the first one. - C.

Why not get her a gift, I'm sure it wont drive her away. You're lucky you are best friends with your ex, let alone friends. When most relationships end, the girl and guy aren't even friends anymore and go their seperate ways.

My X and I are best of friends also and there will always be a strong connection there. We are buying gifts for each other, whats the problem, it shows you care.
If you are worried, about driving her away, buy a card with 'To My Best Friend' on it. Then she won't get paranoid.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas, with your family and 'friends'.

This could get deep. You may be best friends but, should you meet someone else and your ex may expect this every year, then there is something you may have to stop and hopefully without any hurt feelings. If this is for Christmas, just take her to dinner. If things should re-develop between you to then , knock yourself out and lavish her in gifts. Good luck to the both of you

Maybe...but only if its a gift you would normally give to a friend and that the gift cannot be misintepreted for anything more than a friendship based gift.

i would say yes - she still is your best friend and wouldn't you normally buy a gift for a friend?
just make sure that it is an appropriate gift for a friend - nothing too intimate

If you reasons are as you stated ~ and it's not something intimate, frilly or girly, then Do So because 'you want to.'
As to whether it will 'drive her away,' depends on her and how she views the gift.
Best of luck.

I would let her know I had found something, and ask if she would be okay with your getting it for her.
You do not need to say what it is of course.

if you know that she is gonna like it and you know what it would mean to her, then get it! that doesn't mean you're trying to win her back or anything...there is absolutely nothing wrong with caring for and about someone...and besides i wish my ex would get me a present just because he knew that i liked something...it would mean a lot so put that into perspective...if i'm wrong then you can blame me for giving you bad advice...good luck
