isnt that called a Bakers dozen? When they give 13 instead of 12. Some people consider 13 good luck.

A dozen is 12, a single is 1.
Maybe the guy couldn't make up his mind about whether to give a dozen or just a single rose. So he bought 13 and try to figure it out later. But by the time he's decided about the number of roses to give to the girl, he didn't want to waste the others, so he throw in the lot.

13 is a curse, maybe he is trying to curse her. What colour is the rose?

Sometimes 13 is a lucky number. Our football team won on friday the 13th.

However, he could just be trying to curse her.

It was probably a mistake, unless the number 13 is somehow significant to this person. May you met on the 13th, or you were 13 when you met, or maybe he/she just likes that number. Why don't you ask this person?

Either the baker's dozen was on sale, or you my dear are a very special person who deserved the extra.

Maybe they had a buy 12 get one free sale?

Don't read anything into it....most of us guys are not smart enough to do subtle messages like you ladies do. We males are simple creatures. To quote Jeff Foxworty, "Men only want 2 things! We want a beer and we want to see somthing naked."

I would give a girl 13 roses. It's my lucky number.
