well, alcohol is a diuretic, causing your body to void urine and flush the system. It's the metabolites of the alcohol that are present in a urine screen for about 12 hours. Which is relevent to the amount of alcohol consumed...the more you drink, 12 hours turns to 24 hours and so on. My advice, if you are scheduled for a screen, avoid the stuff until after...

Alcohol cannot be detected in a urine test. I am an addictions counselor in a drug rehab facility and I have to drug test my clients every time they come back from an appointment or if they go out with their family anywhere. If I have a suspicion that they are using alcohol, then I can give them a breathalizer test right then, and that will only work if they had just been drinking within the past couple hours. The only other way to detect alcohol in the body is through a bloos test, which also has a low shelf life. It can only be detected if you used it that day, unless you drank soooo much that you were completely wasted and were in a major black out then you could still detect it in the blood the next day. But there is absolutely noooooo way in the world that they could ever find out if you used alcohol in a urine test, so whoever gave you the test, im hoping it was a parent because if it was a medical proffesional then it was illigal for them to lie to you and they could lose their liscense to practice medicine or therapy. So if it was one of your parents they were just probably trying to scare you into admitting something you didnt do. If it was a medical professional then they need to be reported because that is not ethical to do to someone. You need to tell your parents that you know there is no way alcohol can show up in a urine test, and tell them that they shoudl be a little more honest with you, which in turn needs to o both ways. I do not know how old you are, but you should be telling them the truth as well. I do believe that you didnt drink, but you need to tell them that, and get them to trust you. Tell them that they raised you right and that you know better than to do that, unless you do drink then you need to come clean with them. If you do that then they will have alot more respect for you for coming clean than they would for you lying, but you need to let them know that if they want you to be honest then they need to do the same thing. I hop this helps, if you have any other questions or need any help please feel free to e mail me and I would be happy to answer any other questions you may have. Good luck!!!

It depends on how much alcohol is in your system (blood). Since the kidneys purify the blood, the higher the concentration of alcohol, the longer it will take for the kidneys to detoxify the blood.

alcohol disipates from the body at a one drink per hour rate....a drink being 1 beer , 1 glass of wine, or 1 shot of whiskey. the best thing to do is wait at least twelve hours before test time.

from what I know it takes your body 1 hour for every drink you have consumed to be free of alcohol. 5 shots, 5 beers or 5 glasses of wine would take 5 hours for your body to metabolize it
