When I was 16 years old I woke up from a dream feeling frightened and I saw an apparition like you describe straightening up as if it had been bending over me. I tried to move but I couldn't and it walked into the other room and I heard a rustling noise that I thought was some papers on the table in that room. I was straining to move. I thought maybe it was my cousin who had the room next to mine up on the third story of the Victorian house I was living in. Suddenly I jerked free and I got up and walked into the other room but no one was there. A room led off from that room into a storage room that had a hatch that was open to the summer night sky. As I thought about the rustling noise I wondered if instead of it being papers maybe the noise was some creature with wings flying off. I shut the hatch and went back to bed wondering what the heck had happened. I couldn't tell you what you are seeing. I just relate my story because it sounds somewhat similar to what you describe.
