From a person who has suffered with acne for years, and used hunderds of dollars in different products, the only thing that worked significantly for me was a perscription medication called Acutane. I was perscribed it at the dermatologist, and there were no complications for me because I am a male, and most of the side effects are for females. As far as over-the-counter-cheap-fix medications go, any medication with benzoyle peroxide as the active chemical works better than most salycillic (sp?) acid medications.

There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made face packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html

My nephew use a brand that you get from Walmart. It tells you it is just like the expensive stuff they show on tv. Good Luck
