The music, art and design, theatre, film, and dance conservatories at the State University of New York at Purchase are among the best programs in the country (they're at about the same level as Julliard, but with a state university price tag). Here's the program's web page: http://www.purchase.edu/departments/AcademicPrograms/Arts/music/default.aspx

Julliard. Many pros have studied there and it is considered one of the best, if not the best music school in the world. But there it is about money and who you know. Attending any large university will get you into the door of where you ultimately wish to be.....but only larger, well-known schools. After that, it does matter who you know along with your talent of course. I can help along these lines, email me, be well, Jack

Juillard is a prestigious school and will look great on your résumé. Living and studying in New York City, at Juillard will open more doors than you can imagaine. More so, than other schools.

Juilliard is probably tops, depending on where you want to go with it.
CalArts in California has very good music program ... they have a strong program in experimental music you might enjoy.

Peabody. I had a teacher who went there for her undergraduate in performance and education (double major) and she loved it. She's an amazing musician and she can't stop saying how wonderful it was.
