i could almost remember that there was never a chocolate tootsie roll pop till about tthe late 1990's before the brown label in the tootsie rool pops i could remember was rootbeer and it was the best flavor next to orange or am i dreaming

Nope,,everyone Remembers a RootBeer Tootsie Pop,,but there never was one

The RootBeer ones were Dum Dum Pops.

The Brown Tootsies were CHOCOLATE

Not sure about the Tootsie Pop thing .- but do know that 'Dum Dum' pops had the root beer flavor that was really quite tasty.
I find them less and less in the bags bought now days... but if you look real hard. ... Orange is a great choice though.

Not to my knowledge, the only ones which I saw in brown wrappers were chocolate ones.
