a lie detector test is not a test you can study for, nor is it a test you can change by breating differently, etc.

Here's an idea...relax, take the test, and if they hold you back saying something appeared to be strange on there, then you can spill the beans. Until that time, relax cause you don't know what they will be asking you. If it was your best friend and you know it was your best friend and you don't report it then you will get time too because you will be considered an accessory. It's not worth keeping this inside you because jail time will ruin you and later in life your friend will walk away from you. Do what's right and tell someone immediately, maybe an attorney.

I would suggest confession as fooling a lie detector test is somewhat difficult - and as you've posted in a public forum this may also be found out.

To succeed one must be capable of extreme calm and ease of consciousness. The easiest method is simply to believe the 'lie' as it were. But this is almost impossible for a 'normal' person. Some drugs may help, but most or all require a prescription, and all would probably be detected by any drug test.

yeah tell the truth. Your friend must have stolen something big if they are getting a polygraph and is he worth your job is he going to take care of you while you are unemployed? Most of the tricks that people have to beat it the polygrapher can recognize it and realize that you are lying they are trained to observe how you are acting as well as read the polygraph machine so you need to tell the truth

Be a REAL friend and turn him in. Maybe the jail time will get him to turn his life around before he's wanted for murder. What will you do then? Will you keep protecting this person while he trashes not only his own life but others' lives as well?

My advice? Don't lie.

It is easy to pass a polygraph test with confidence. There has been murders that have passed due to extreme level of confidence. Lie detectors don't detect lies they detect nervous reactions.

What ever you do try to stay calm!Do not raise or lower your voice.Give the answer you wish to give ,then think of something else.A mantra helps.Om,or concentrate on your breathing.Find a speck on the wall and concentrate on that.Tell yourself also that you are telling the truth.Make sure your shoes are fitting loosely.Use these teqniques and you should pass with flying colors.

If I were you I would sit your friend down and tell him that he should turn himself in. The chances of you passing the test are not sure cause they can be beaten but do you want to take the chance and get in trouble yourself? Plus if your friend has to take one then what are the chances he will pass. If he fesses up it would look better on him and you don't have to be put on the spot.
