I think they look like anything they want, or any person.
It depends on the place, time and circumstance.

Angels and messengers, can come in many different forms. You will know it, when it appears to you. Only after the Angel or messenger has left, will you be able to comprehend. They come in may different ways. Hopefully, you will be able to identify and contain the wisdom to know.

sometimes ordinary looking people, and sometimes invisible voices, those are the two I am aware of from experience, and a friend said he saw the traditional version at the foot of his bed when he received a documented with x-rays healing one night.

I don't know...that I know of, I've never seen one. Of course, the bible does tell us to be kind to strangers, that we never know when we may be entertaining an angel in human form!
