Here's the thing with age difference….it really depends on where you (and she) are in life. Someone who is 30 and dating a 35 year old is not a big deal, this is because they are generally in the same place in life (in regards to jobs, families, social lives….) In your situation, you might very well be in a different place then she is and at a different maturity level. I’m not saying either one of you is not mature but even if she is ‘very mature for her age’ there are some things in life that just come with age and experience. I would be concerned about social events as well. If you are in the US, she is not of legal age to drink which could make things awkward, if you are in Canada, then it is less so. As well, would you be comfortable partying and getting together with teenagers (other people her age)? So I’m not saying it’s wrong but just that there are a lot of things to consider.

I don't see why people make such a big deal out of age. All that matters is maturity level. She could be a very mature 19 year old. The only thing age means is what year you were born in. It shouldn't even be considered in relationships unless she is underage or illegal. Don't worry about what people say or do, as long as you are happy with her.

Age difference can or can't be a problem, it just depends. There are people that are 14 years apart and get along great.

Some of the problems that can occur include:
~difference in experiances and maturity (though she will gain maturity by being with you)
~problems with ambitions of the future
~differences in groups of friends
~legal issues-i.e. drinking, etc.

If you don't think that these will be a problem with her, then go for it. It's always worth a try, so why not?

Three words for you - "Age of Consent".

You're both over it according to most of the Western world, so what you do as consenting adults is your business...
