Beats me how anyone can be so primitive, almost like cave-men.

People who are caught up in the shadows of the dark ages are defined as darkness who are incapable of comprehending the light therefore they will never come to the knowledge of the Truth of God's existence because they are blinded by Satan and have been given over to a reprobate mind. God bless.

Non belief is not primitive...early people world wide came up with their stories (that eventually formed religion) as a way of understanding a world that they had not a bit of understanding of. I mean, they could look up and not even have a clue what stars were (but it probably looked magical), they saw little points of light, noticed that some flickered, that they moved through the sky over time... of course they came up with stories to try to explain that, creation, and everything else. It's all part of human nature, and human sanity and security, to need an explanation and feel like we understand things that we can not. Why else do people hold so firmly to their religious books, and why others in science look so hard for other answers? We all have a need to know, but that need comes in different forms.

Religion as these stories is the primitive one...

Judgemental much?

I could ask why are some people caught in the shadows of the Dark Ages and ignorant about sexual reproduction? Or ignorant about sexual equality? Or ignorant about the differences in international culture? Or ignorant about the ethical treatment other humans?

Just because you mention 'God' in your question, it doesn't mean you gain a better moral or intellectual standing. (Kudos for mentioning cave-men though - that's at least suggests some knowledge and acceptance of the Theory fo Evolution...)

"Beats me how anyone can be so primitive, almost like cave-men."

I often wonder the same thing about those who believe in a "one true way to heaven"

I think you have it all backwards.

It was the caveman who invented god, the dark ages that propped the god up and now we're living in an enlightened society where god is beginning to lose his grip on naive minds.

Enlightenment = no god.

I'm glad I could explain this to you.

Some view religion as a sign of weakness, lack of intlligence or primitive and obsolete. To each his own.

They were created with the same "Self Will" as you and I.
How they choose to live their lives is their business.
You can help threw the use of the bible and logical arguments, help them see what it is like to serve God.
But keep in mind, as it is thier right to excersie that right as Free Moral Agents and decide for themselves what they want to do.

The Dark Ages were a result of religion asserting itself over reason. What's your point?

It's so cute how Christians are finding more subtle ways to be passive assholes.

This one, however, is incredibly ironic... the Dark Ages were a period of time where the Crusades were happening. Asker pisses on his own foot.

I beg your pardon. Are you actually under the impression that people who don't believe as you do are "caught in the dark ages"?

How amazingly arrogant, and how amazingly ignorant of your own religions whichever branch of monotheism that is.
