HI, the original birth certificate is allways held by the registry, because even though you have a new certificate in your new name if or when you get married you have to show the original.

Is registered as normal . The records are held by the adoption society and the birth certificate the child grows up with is an extract from the register of adoptions. (as in the new given name) this is the one used for passports etc. It is only when the child becomes of an age to search for themselves through the social work channels that the original birth entry would be viewed.
