Who likes women drivers?

I was riding to work yesterday when I observed a female driver cut right in front of a pickup truck causing him to have to drive on to the shoulder to avoid hitting her.

This evidently angered the driver enough that he hung his arm out his window and flipped the woman off.

"Man, that guy is stupid!" I thought to myself.

I ALWAYS smile nicely and wave in a sheepish manner whenever a female does anything to me in traffic and here's why:

I drive 48 miles each way every day to work, that's 96 miles each day.

Of these, 16 miles each way is bumper-to-bumper.

Most of the bumper-to-bumper is on an 8 lane highway so if you just look at the 7 lanes I am not in, that means I pass something like a new car every 40 feet per lane.

That's 7 cars every 40 feet for 32 miles. That works out to be 982 cars every mile, or 31,424 cars.

Even though the rest of the 32 miles is not bumper to bumper, I figure I pass at least another 4000 cars.

That brings the number to something like 36,000 cars I pass every day.

Statistically, half of these are driven by females, that's 18,000.

In any given group of females 1 in 28 are having the worst day of their period. That's 642.

According to Cosmopolitan, 70% describe their love life as dissatisfying or unrewarding. That's 449.

According to the National Institute of Health, 22% of all females have seriously considered suicide or homicide. That's 98.

And 34% describe men as their biggest problem. That's 33.

According to the National Rifle Association 5% of all females carry weapons and this number is increasing.

That means that EVERY SINGLE DAY, I drive past at least one female that has a lousy love life, thinks men are her biggest problem, has seriously considered suicide or homicide, is having the worst day of her period, and is armed.

Flip one off?

How long did it take you to come up with all those statistics? Fair enough for your trouble but may I please point out that using the term "women drivers" is demeaning. You are contradicting yourself here by referring to these stats while using this term. The fact that one out of however many will likely fall in to this category does not give you a reason to stereotype us.

I am a 25 year old woman who has driven more or less every day for perhaps 6 years. I have never been involved in an accident and have never caused one. My no-claims bonus is intact. I don't cut people off and never allow my period to affect the way I drive.

Although I see the humour in your joke, it's people who use that term that keeps it going.

It's funny how there are all those jokes about female drivers, but none about young males. If anybody has driven for longer than six months they would be aware that young males are the real danger on the road.

When female drivers make a mistake, the consequences are usually trivial; when an aggressive young male makes a mistake, the consequences are often fatal.

Yeh I know its Sexist!
But face it guys WE are the safest drivers!!!
My hubby drives coaches for a living. His favourite saying is "I hate women drivers of both sexes!! "
And why do you Macho Men back off after sitting on my bumper (I'm usually at the speed limit) just cos my Dog sits up? Which only takes a quick command and it never fails!!!!

Insurance companies!!! They give you cheap insurance then offer you things like no claims protection. 5% discount next year and a stuffed dog in 3 years if you don't stuff your car into anything else (In the last 100 years, a total of 1.5 stuffed dogs have been paid out. National Bollocks Office).

Each woman driver probably likes themselves, and that must amount to quite a few, well at least half according to the above. I have seen and met several women that even if they are driving, I like them. I sometimes do not like my younger daugther driving.

I am considering not allowing my wife to drive whenver she falls into one of the categories cited above, but then that may imply something about our life togehter, so, no, I just better leave it all alone.

I like some as little as the guys who think I must yield just because they hung in the fast lane to the last second and now need to get 4 lanes over in 1/8th of a mile in order to make an off ramp, or the low rider ones that I cannot see above their dash and they drive oblivious to everyone and everthing around them, or the ones who jam aronud me though I am breaking the speed limit already in almost bumper to bumper traffic and then try to squeeze back in in front of me, like that really helped them a lot.
