I have been clinically diagnosed with major depression and I also have an eating disorder. I have also attempted suicide and the best thing that has helped me is therapy. I think this might be a good idea for you. Sometimes you just need to talk to someone. If ever you feel suicidal there are suicide hot lines to call as well, don't be ashamed to call them if you need them.

I have been depressed off and on my whole life. It usually hits me after certain situations happen. When I stop caring about the situation, I begin to feel better over time. It's like a rollercoaster at first, but then the ups and downs come less and less as things level out and time goes on.
I don't know if this will make you feel better, but you may try going somewhere where there are a lot of other people around, such as a mall, or library. Being around other people, even if you aren't talking with them can make you feel good. Coffee shops are great, you get a mental/physical boost and you can read an upbeat book. Avoid depressing music and alcohol. Go to bed ealier, and if you can't sleep take Meletonin (think that's how it's spelled). It's all natural. Regular sleep will help your body and mind refresh and rebalance. Taking good care of yourself could help you feel good too. Shower, use shampoo, brush your teeth and floss... sounds silly i guess, but do it! Go to the gym or take a long walk in the morning or evening. Wash your car, clean up your room/house... when things are in order it's easier to feel good and have clarity.
If you have any interests of hobbies spend sometime in those areas. I also find the more I focus on other people the less I focus on myself and my own problems. Serving in a soup kitchen can do wonders for you.
Regular exersise, sleep, getting out of the hosue and healthy diet can solve a lot of things...

Yes, I have experienced depression also. I know how it feels to feel lonely, I've felt that way mainly because I'm very misunderstood. And yeah, it's hard to eat when there are so many terrible things on your mind. And it doesn't help that society makes you out to be a weird retarded freak. I believe that alot of the "normal" people we see are depressed and they don't even know it, ignorance is bliss, ya know. As for suicide, I understand where you are coming from. But, there is plenty to live for even when you don't see it. Do not submit to life's pressure. Of course, I'm talking to you as a friend, But I think therapy will help you better than I can (it helped me). I hope I helped, good luck!

You are not alone. I don't know the true number but there are a lot of depressed people out there....HI...I'm one. I've been suffering from depression all my life. I'm getting help and this kinda scares me because depression is really all I know.
If you are suicidal or need to talk to someone, please call a suicide prevention hotline number. They are normally located in the from of most phone books.

I'm Bipolor II and ADHD - I struggled in high school when both my parents tried to kill themselves (not an easy time). Finally I pulled through it and now I'm the CEO of a technology company! I was also recently depressed an lonely when I returned from a year in Iraq with the Army National Guard. Trust me - you need to find something to hold onto that can't let you down - like God - notice I didn't say *church* or specify a religion - he's a good listener :D Also, keeping your energy up by exercising is proven to cheer you up. Good luck with your fight! If you're anything like me you can tell yourself that the feelings in your head are all bull$hit and tell them they are not welcome! God bless!

I've been depressed at times, but never attempted suicide. If you feel suicidal, get yourself to a crisis center or emergency room now!

I've been through a child who sounded a lot like you. I attempted to get them help, however, they elected to remain in the hole that they considered their life. If you desire to be healed then enlist the aide of a parent or other trusted individual, work the problems out, and get to a better place. It's all up to you!
