Simply put people are ignorant and uneducated when it comes to driving on the nations highways.

As for passing another truck up a hill going only 2-3 miles an hour faster.Well thats to bad.You will get over it.Your in such a rush to go buy the products that WE TRUCKERS PUT ON THE SHELVES ,you can certianly afford us 2 min of your precious time to get our 80,000 lb loads up a 6% grade!

It amazes me how you people in your 4 wheelers(not all but the vast majority) ignore the rules of the road, acting as if its your right to do as you please with total disregard for the law or the saftey of others on the road.

Examples please you say....hmmm well lets start with speed, high beams on when your driving into traffic, not using turn signals, tailgating and so on.

People should be mandated to take a refresher course in driving every 5 years. Its amazing the stupid ,idiotic things us truckers see you people doing. This doesnt apply to everyone. There are alot of 4 wheelers who afford us great respect. But the majority of you people on the roads seem to have some major death wishes!

Just remember without us you have NOTHING.Thats not an overstatement. You take away trucks and theres nothing,no food, clothes, cars, gas - NOTHING.

Give us a little respect we deserve it,well most of us.

YES MARKJ I AM A PROFESSIONAL DRIVER.

I own my own truck and have been on the road for over ten years now!

With that said I treat all people on the road with respect.

I have driven over 1 million miles in my career, never an accident and never a moving violation ticket.

You apparently can handle the fact that my post was RIGHT.

Everyone seems to think truck driving is soooooo easy.Ya these truckers make 50-60K a year to just drive and see the country.

Thats a bunch of BS!

Tell me someting when was the last time you actually obeyed a yield sign? the last time you actually used your turn signal? How many times have you passed a truck in a construction zone approaching a single lane "because you didnt wanna get stuck behind a truck",how many times do you ride in the left lane for miles and miles.Even though the law clearly states driving in the left lane is prohibited except when passing. If a truck was to stay in the left lane for more than 2 miles we would get a $200 ticket for "failure to stay right".Yet its ok for cars to do it at free will.

As I said I treat everyone with respect. But the average American driver is getting worse and worse every year.Yet we,the truck driver is blamed for all the problems on the roads today.Even though the FMCSA says that over 80% of all accidents involving a truck and car are the reult of the car being at fault.

Sorry if I sound bitter, but we are trying to do our jobs and be safe while doing it.But the 4 wheelers are making it harder and harder. Its bogus and total disrespect for us.

Ya know just last week on I44 in Oklahoma a woman sideswiped me,bounced off my trailor tires and wnt over the embankment ,down 50 feet. When the cops arrived she tried blaming me.Yet little did she know there was a man in a pickup who saw the whole thing,He stopped gave his statement and that was the end of the "blaming the trucker" excuse!

Sorry! But most people out here don't now how to drive, - even though they have a liscense! And there are a bunch out there, - who won't live long enough to find out how!!

Part of it is the "I want what I want", - and "I have a right" mentality that our modern education gives people nowdays! When I got my liscense (1952), - I was made to know that your car is a "deadly weapon" and you can use it to kill somebody else, - or kill yourself with it! At least 15 of my classmates in high school "proved this out" in one or both scenarios! However the other 135 of us took it to heart,-as most of them are "still alive"! Now "the young ones" think we should be taken off the road,- because we drive too slow and too cautiously! Well "duh!" -how do they think we got this old??

Over 45,000 people die on the highways every year in the United
States,- and there seems to be an endless supply of them!

If most of the people getting drivers tests had to pass what they have to in Europe, - they would mostly be walking.

apparently most drivers don't understand this and are ignorant!....I was taught by my hubby who happens to drive a quad to stay far enough behind, and if I do pass give the truck driver at least 100 feet before I pull back into the lane. I am also courteous enough to flash my lights when a truck driver is in front of me and wants to get into the lane I am in to let him know it is all clear. it is common sense...I personally don't want to be flattened by a truck.

I don't know that they are messing with you. Many people are very nervous driving around such a big truck because they are worried the driver won't see them or something. They are probably just doing whatever they can to pass you.

Yes, people really are that dumb. And amazingly, they seem to think the truckers are the jerks! One minute of driving something bigger than a passenger vehicle and I think most would have more respect. Any driving job is much harder than it sounds. Dealing with morons all day? I salute you.
