I can't believe you are lumping all Christians together. I am a committed Christian and I NEVER try to "shove religion down other peoples' throats". To me, Christianity is living according to certain precepts, and that's what I try to do. There are no Christians I know that are "arrogant" and don't try to see things from other points of view. I, and every Christian I know, are very respectful of other religions and believe that there is wisdom to be found all over. Of course there are indeed some Christians who believe they are supposed to 'convert' others and that they - and only they - know the truth. But, you can't lump all Christians together. Some Americans are pedofiles, buy you wouldn't ask "why are Americans pedofiles?" Right?

I think it's unfair to generalize. However, it is hard when you've been taught a certain way of thinking, to remove yourself from that thinking. If you're asking Christians to consider other religions as equally valid, that can't happen, bc they're not. They don't provide a way to get rid of sin, and so we could never honestly consider them.

If you mean rudely dismissing their views and insulting them, that's not Christian, and I'm sorry if anyone's done that to you.

Understand that my first paragraph isn't meant to appear closed-minded or arrogant, it's simply logic. If what I believe as a Christian is truth, then why should I consider believing anything else that's against it? I know it can't be right, bc Christianity is true. There may be parts of it that are right, and most beliefs do have some truth in them, but it's been distorted or twisted over time.

I don't want to be arrogant, bc that's rude and I want to be a gentleman, but I do want to be certain, and I'm certain Christianity is the only way into heaven. There's no other way to remove sin.

Ah, I think your rage blinds you. You generalizations tell me that you've had a bad experience with " Christians " some one recently. I understand that.

It can get a little old when you here the " believe or burn " for the umpteenth billion times. Starts to sound more like brain washing that divine wisdom, doesn't it?

Here's a little tid bit of information that might comfort you. Did you know that less than 40% of " Christians " have actually read the bible? Oh, I'm sure they've found some choice scriptures they can sling at you from time to time, but never really READ the bible.
Every faith has it's fanatics. Just nod, smile and move along.

As an atheist, I think Christians are a little more closed minded, but also add other religions too. Usually atheists have been in a religion at some point in their life so they've seen things from both sides, also I think atheists don't hold to much taboo about things so they are more inclined to look into interests that a believer might not.

This Christian tries honestly to see things from other points of view so perhaps your generalities may warrant reconsideration?

Acceptance of people where they are and for who they are comes first. Then open dialogue may persuade one to believe in the good news of the Gospel?

No shoving down the throat here. Good day, friend.

I am curious as what you mean by shoving religion down your throat. Does answering a question, based on what one believes, constitute "shoving" that belief? I don't think so. A Christian is a follower of Jesus, and Jesus said He was the only way to the Father. Christians believe that, and believe the bible.

Wow, you know every Christian on earth and they all do this?

I am a Christian and have followed many other "religions" prior to Christianity. I would never shove it down anybodys throat but I do have an answer for whoever may intellegently ask why I believe this.

For many years I saw it from a different point of view. Then I was fortunate enough to find Christ. I know the other view very well, and now I have learned that God gives me tremendous joy and peace.

So all I can say is been there, done that, and what I have now I wouldn’t trade for anything!

you does not be disappointing God. Who do you imagine made you gay? and likewise, the bible is a 2000 three hundred and sixty 5 days previous TRANSLATED e book, that is really not conceivable to translate something completely, there are purely too Manu adjustments between the languages, and likewise that, it ha been translated over, an over, and yet again. it would want to be not conceivable for something now to not be tousled. contained in the recent retranlation of the bible even. Marry isn't even a virgin, they replaced it to love virtuous i imagine. Use the bible extra as a collection of guidelines than actual guidelines. And in case you nonetheless do not trust me, then i wager you mustn't eat figs or get haircuts because the bible also says both one among those are undesirable, and far extra wierd such issues as them.

This isn't a trait only found in Christians nor will you find every Christian so closed minded.

The inability to see other people's point of view is something that can be found across all of humanity.

especially when it comes to something that is the center of their world view
