My son used it for probably the last 3 years of high school. He took Ritalin or Concetta before that since age 7.
He did fine academically and was an honor roll student. I don't think it helped him socially as ADD children tend to be less mature socially, too.
He is now 20 and decided to stop his meds. He seems to do alright in the work world and is catching up socially in peer settings.

My son has been on Strattera for about 6 months now. He is doing GREAT on it. It totally helps him concentrate in school without making him a complete zombie (we tried Ritalin first). I know some other children on it and from my experience as long as its taken properly all have done very well, the ones I know of only have difficulties with concentration, there really aren't behavior issues associated with their ADHD. Unfortunately I don't know the cost in Canada, I know it is somewhat expensive, it is on my top $ tier for our insurance but we use mail-away so we get 3 months for 1 copay.
Hope this is helpful

My son is using it for his ADHD and is having great success with it. He started out on Adderall and he did not like how it made him felt, or how he felt when it "wore off". He also was having problems with his appetite and wasn't growing like the Dr wanted. We switched him to Strattera and his appetite is back, he has no complaints how he feels when he takes it and his grades and behavior at school are better than ever. His last Dr's appointment, when they charted his height & weight, he had gone from the bottom 15% to the top 10%.....in a little less than year! I'm happy with it, he's happy with it and we will keep on using it. I know it works differently for everybody but we have had great success with it. Truth be told, I like the idea of not having my son "hopped" up on a stimulant all day long.

First, I would forget about Canada for stimulant-meds. Next I can guess why this med for a child... I've tied it and all I can suggest with what I know is that * less is better and *any progressive-negativity should be closely watched for and reported to the issuer. Good luck and be careful:)>

It works well like an anti-depressant
it doesn't seem to be effective for ADD
has been our experience
