I've never tried it, but I was out one night in Spain with a guy who was grumpy and thought he'd deal with his mood swing by having absinthe. He disappeared and nobody could find him. He woke up two days later in his bed with no memory of the elapsed time. I know some girls who experienced a similar blackout (but only for a few hours) when drinking real absinthe in South America. Their antics were caught on tape.

REAL absinthe is hard to find. Even in places where it's supposedly legal. Mostly, whenever you find it (except in the States, where it's illegal in all forms) it just has a really high alcohol concentration. Bright green and tasting like black licorice.

Absinthe is illegal, as far as I know..... it was causing hallucinations and brain damage ... . they created other
anise drinks instead .... why not try champagne? They still
permit that and the high from champagne is quite.... quite
Christmassy! Have some!

I did in Spain. It wasn't all it was hyped up to be to be quite honest. The hallucinations are interesting but other than that its like taking a few shots of Vodka or the like.

Yep, you know if someone says "Hella" they are from the Northen Cali Sticks. You would never hear anyone from Southern California utter that phrase.
