usualy only half are fit for human consumption... if there are answers already I will often answer even when I did not intend to as some have given very wrong info. to a seriouse question.

I once saw an answer that was clearly, by The Bible, wrong. I made an answer that contradicted the other but was sound by The Bible. As this was to a Bible Question it was apropriate to Quote The bible... ehich the other did not do...you should have seen the filth I got in my email from the other answerer..who claimed to be a "christian" it was worse that any I have seen in YA

Yes.

It sometimes helps to comment on other answers to help the
Asker get a complete perspective, or to point out the right math or grammar answer if there are more wrong answers listed.

In those cases, it helps to vote against such answers that are wrong so they are not misleading.

I also check my answers against others to make sure I don't give misinformation either. It can be deceptively easy to overlook the obvious, so I try to check to make sure.

All the time I answer and ask questions so I can be helpful or I can be educated. I do not ask or answer for the points, which are worthless. Information good or bad is more useful.

Yup, each one I answer I open in a new window, that way I can leave it open for a few and refresh to see what's been added or if I got good ratings. ; )
