I understand that alcohol is metabolized in the system by about a drink an hour. So, if I drink a drink an hour for say 12 hours, how harmful is this to my health, considering that one an hour should mean less in the system at any given time?

You are correct about the average metabolism rate for healthy persons during average activity. The consumption you mention does not include other liquids which would be a factor contributing to mild dehydration during a prolonged drinking period possibly causing headache or muscle fatigue..(short term)

Chronic use at the rate you describe can lead to addiction to alcohol.

Mediacall reserach states that 20% of alcohol is absorbed from the stomach during the first hour, and the rest during the next 8-12 hours, the amount of alcohol varies from one drink to the other(u cant compare vodka to champagne),and the amount of drink also counts, but u have to take in consideration that if alcohol percentage exceeds a certain limit in ur blood, it would have adverse effects. On the short run:Drowsiness, blurring of vision, moodiness, lack of concentration, and possibly nausea. On long run of excessive alcohol consumption: liver cirrhosis, brain cell damage casing memory loss, and possibly diabetes.

Well, if you drink 12 beers in one sitting (alot), it will effect your health later on in life. However... I think you're asking if you'll still be sober after those 12 hours have gone past... You will probably just pass out from being tired, not from being drunk. The more you drink, the less you metabolize per hour. ! beer every hour for 12 hours would be a pretty boring time of just being half sober, and tired, and pissing alot.

Its not good because alcohol also dehydates you so essencially your body will be breaking down the alcohol no problem but your body will be hurting from lack of hydration.

1 drink isn't going to hurt you. even if you consume it in one hour.

what will hurt you is if you constantly drink everyday. your body is tougher than you think. alcohol kills irreplacable brain cells but 1 single drink isn't going to do any significant damage even when consumed in one hour.
