First thing, go to your local animal shelter look at all the unwanted pets sitting behind bars, their only crime being that there are too many of them. Then count them every 5th one will be adopted the other 4 will be euthinized. Sad but true! The only people who should breed are the people with registered dogs and are only breeding to improve the breed. Not to make money, or becasue they want puppies! If you truley love your pet's you'll have them fixed!

people think it is cute to have puppies; well let me tell you; be prepared to pay vet bills for your dog and puppies; you may have to pay a stud fee and that fee gets paid whether or not they mate; next how old is your dog ; no guarantee that she will be a good mom just b/c she is a dog; what if there are defects are you keeping the pup; what if the pups are born not breathing - what will you do then; what if your dog needs a c section are you paying that cost? and then the cost to have her there and pups? ; are you ready to clean up after possibly 10 pups and Mom ? see the pups in the pet shop now imagine have 10 of them to clean up after and running about ; do you remember when your dog was a pup , multiply that; what about advertising ? sure people say they will take a pup and it is all fine and good until it is the time to actually take them; then watch the excuses; then if there a lot of puppies born at the same time as yours, there is less interest in your pups ; do you then have 10, 12 week old puppies running around; forget the grass; forget any time to yourself if you are going to raise them right; are you going to screen homes and decline people? we did some 30 plus ; to find a good home; what if someone wants to return a puppy ? will you take them back? b/c you love them or are you trying to make a buck ; better to help a shelter dog then make some; are you prepare to love them and then have to let them go ; talk about a broken heart and tears; investigate your reasons; b/c its fun ; not really, you don't realize how times pups have to go, are active and excited; jumping over fences, peeing when you just turn your head; if all this sounds like a blast , breed your dog; if not help a dog and love the one you have.

I have been breeding my dog for several years now. What I have found works best is starting out with a nice bottle of wine along with strawberries and chocolate. Soft candlelight is a sensual touch. This really gets the mood going and usually ends up in a home run.

If you had to come on here to ask that kind of question you should never do this. Go spend a day at a shelter, be there when litters of 'unwanted' puppies come in. Be there when 'unwanted' puppies are euthanized because there is no room for them. Be there when the 'unwanted' mother dog is euthanized because there is no room for her. Be there when puppies are brought in because they were left in a box somewhere to die.
Breeding dogs is not fun or a 'hobby.' It is expensive, and work, and completely unnecessary for people who have no idea what they are doing.
Go get your dog neutered.

Not to be rude but if you need to ask this question then you don't have experience enough to even consider breeding. Breeding is a BIG responsability.

Breeding takes allot of investigation and thought to produce the best possible puppies which are free of inherited defects. I do not breed

This is not the place to do research. If you are asking here then you do not need to breed your dog. Do the poor dog a favor and get it a spayed or nuetered ASAP!!!!

Well, technically, put two dog of opposite sexes together and there you go.
To do it RIGHT, you do a TON of research and reading. You talk to other good breeders and go to shows.
You spend a lot and get all health clearances.

Don't just become another BYB.
