How many in your family do you support and and how. My husband allots me $240.00 per week to buy food, tp, shampoo, cleanings supplies for ourselves, 2 teenagers and 3 younger kids. This is what I spend it on but he thinks I should have enough to buy myself clothes, and dinners out along with little things like taking one of the kids to a movie or something. Are my priorities wrong? Do I not know how to budget? P.S. I live in California with a higher cost of living. How about you?

We have a family size of 4 and I spend approx that much ($240.00) just on groceries per week. It doesn't include cleaning supplies and toiletries. It definately does not include meals out. There is no way he should expect you to buy clothes and other items on that budget with a household of 7. I live in PA and our cost of living is much lower than yours. Tell your husband he is nuts and to cough up some more cash!

Thats probably as much as we spend BUT it is just me and my husband and our two kids (though they need diapers pull ups formula etc) and I live in Alabama - VERY cheap cost of living. As far as the clothes go .. I understand your pain there.. After I had my last son before I could fit into my regular clothes I wanted to buy a new outfit. My husband gave me $17.00!! He was like this is all the cash I have but it should get you an outfit! I never said anything but I was thinking WHAT?! Even in walmart I can't buy at outfit for that! Men just don't understand plus if they aren't very fashionable most men's clothes are cheaper than womens. I don't know what to say for you to do about it but I don't think your priorities are out of whack. If your man is use to you always buying it he probably just doesn't realize how expensive it is...

We spend $150 a week on groceries and toiletries for a family of four. I use a lot of coupons and go all around town to the sales. It's worth it to buy several Sunday newspapers to get the coupons. Also stock up on canned foods and meats when they are on sale. My deep freeze saves me money. Most breads freeze well. Chicken can be frozen for up to 6 months and Beef for a year. But hey I live in the Texas panhandle, things are pretty cheap here. You can economize. Don't think of it as being forced to do it. I love to tell people how cheap I got things. My kids wear name brands because I buy them on clearance. I work as a waitress and I know how hard it is to earn a buck so I don't part with my money unless it's a good buy.

In California thats nuts. I go there once a year and know it is much pricer. Here in Michigan I spend $250.00 on groceries with just my husband, father in law and myself. This does not include clothes or cleaning accesories. I buy the cleaning materials at a local dollar store. But even $250.00 a week goes by fast. With meats and daily meals you could easily spend more. With 5 kids (??) you must be going nuts. That is amazing you are getting by. Do you get any assistance from the state?

Wow I would love $240 a week! Dang. We are a family of 5, luckly one of my children has medical issues and has a feeding tube so all her food is payed for by insurance. We spend $100 at most of things every week. Food and diapers basically. We dont buy lots of clothes for ourselves or go out to dinner movies or other things that are leisurely and not important. We just deal with what we MUST have. The rest of our money has to go to our medical help for daughter.

There are 4 people, 2 adults, a three 12 months old, and a 20 month old. I spend approximately $a hundred and twenty a week. some weeks extra as quickly as we could continuously purchase pull united statesor lavatory paper. we don't purchase junk foodstuff. it particularly is too tempting to have in the homestead and in case you seem at how plenty you pay for it, it particularly is in simple terms RIDICULOUS fee smart for what you have become. We purchase a great form of culmination, yogurt, cheeses, and fruit snacks-the healthful sort. I do use coupons. i do no longer see why you won't.... it in simple terms takes a minute to decrease them out and you maintain money. i assume being a stay at homestead mom ability we are on a funds and that i attempt rather perplexing to stick to it so i will stay at homestead. I plan our nutrition out via the week with some room for replace. I continuously pass with a procuring record or i hit upon myself paying for issues that i did no longer prefer.

Just me and my husband (2 cats). We live in Missouri, in a major city. We have $400 a month in which to do the things you mentioned. Everything else goes to bills. We live on a very tight budget, because of poor decisions earlier in our marriage.
