What do you want to know? As you go higher the temperature drops and the climate changes. What they call mountains in the east would be called foothills in the west. Even Denver is only 5000' and to many people it is not in the mountains, but rather by the side of the mountains. The highest mountain in the continental US is Mt. Whitney in California over 14,000'. There are many 14ners in Colorado. Eastern Colorado is fairly flat but rises slowly from the Kansas border to Denver. Well, that is something about mountains.

The best thing that I can tell you is that people out here (DC) have no clue what a mountain really is. I took a trip into Northern Maryland/West Virginia area and there were signs for the "mountains" with elevations of like 900 feet. That's a hill.
Go out to Denver or something and that is a real mountain!

Mountains are a tranquilizer for the mind and soul. They change dramatically due to the light but never change at all
