If she is too big to ride it and you don't have any room for it..I say save your money and buy something she is old enough to have..Explain to her why you don't think she should have this toy..Tell her you just don't have enough room for it..If having room is a problem try using your back yard..But I still say that is a bit too much money to spend on a toy your daughter is too big to fit on..How will she enjoy it?

Kids want lots of things... I asked mine to write a note to Santa about the things she wanted, telling her to write only the things she REALLY, REALLY wanted, and I think she wrote down every item in the Toys R Us big book!! This decision is up to you... how much do you want to spend? If you don't have the room, you just dont' have it- it's ok to say no and to not get it. I tell my kids that just because they ask Santa for something doesn't mean that they are going to get it. Just as they ask me for things, I don't always get it just because they ask nicely. I know every parent wants to make Christmas special for their child and relive the magic feeling of receiving something from Santa, but not all wishes can always be fullfilled. Ask her to choose some smaller items that she really wants, and get her one of those. Chances are that she'll be so excited about those that not getting the horse will be pushed to the back of her mind. They have to realize that they can't always have everything they want. If you lay that on the table beforehand, she won't be as likely to expect the horse.

The only thing she wants? Hmmmm Has she seen it in the stores and does she know the "retail" value of it? Along with all of the WII and the Playstation 3s of the world, I think this gift is far to high in price for any child. Many children have never laid eyes on a toy, go hungry each day, and many die from starvation and neglect.

Show your love and Christmas spirit by giving her a gift certificate to take FOR REAL horse lessons at your local stable and allow her to take on the responsibility of caring for a real horse. Give this along with other little horse related gifts and have her give horse shaped holiday cookies to children at your local shelter just after Christmas. She will appreciate this Christmas FUR SURE!

saw it at target recently. it certainly was attractive. but, it would be interesting for a week or so at the most and then it would become a clothes rack.

children shouldn't want 250 dollar gifts from santa. this is a great opportunity to share with her your values, if they are your values about such things.

or, if too heavy for the holidays, you might say that you really don't think santa will be able to bring those in his sleigh because they would take up too much room and other kids won't be able to get their toys, too.

then, i might talk about how you could look for it on ebay after christmas, to see if you can get a good deal or somesuch.

No.
What you need to do is explain to her that while it's a nice thing, that she'll have to choose something less expensive. Also let her know that there is no room for it and it's too small for her to fit on properly. It would break. Let her know it's merely a robot with fur and has limits on what it can do and the weight it can hold.

You've got to set limits, otherwise when she gets older she's really going to push your buttons. Have fun, but have some common sense too.

Tell Santa before she sits on his lap. Maybe he can explain he can't make any promises because they are in short supply this year. Also to let him in on some other Horse things she may want.

Let her ask for it, but remind her that even when you are good you don't always get what you want.....I am sure you know of a few other things your daughter would love to have.....My daughter got something from Santa one year that she hadn't asked for, but I knew she wanted. She was a little disappointed at first, but she decided Santa always knows what she "really wants".

no. take her shopping one day and go to the toy section and ask her what she likes. then tell her she should put that on her list. on christmas morning....when she didn't get it...tell her maybe Santa didn't have enough room in the sleigh...or simply explain to her right now that it isn't an appropriate gift for her age and that there isn't enough room in your house for it.
