If you have never been ticketed before, you could very possibly get away with attending a defensive driving school and not pay the fine. DONT count on this, this is the best possible senario.

Make sure you go to court on your date, and plead guilty and the judge will probably ask you if you can pay it that day. Tell him that you can pay some of it, but not all of it and he will probably give you a date to have it paid in full.

Another option would to be to call the county clerk's office (the number is on the back of the ticket) and ask their advice before your court date. They could have another option for you.

I have personal experience because I have received a couple of tickets myself. I think the most it will cost you is $150 but I am guessing on the high end. The most I have paid for one was $125 and that was to keep it off my record so it was more expensive than usual.

You won't go to jail over a speeding ticket as long as you show up for court and you finish paying your fine as it is arranged.

Good luck. The judge will probably go easy on you if this is your first. Just get it taken care of!

Your ticket will probably be at least $200 and very possibly more. And, regarding the payment, all you have to do is inform the judge that you do not and will not have the money to pay the fine. Typically, the judge will let you spend the weekend in jail in lieu of paying the citation. I realize this is not a great solution, but it is the cheapest. Also, not all judges will set up a payment plan, some will and some won't. I also understand that some courts are accepting credit card to pay for many fines. You can call the local court indicated on your ticket and find out what the judge's policies are.

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. It's that simple. You screwed up by speeding. Now you're crying because you have responsibilities and are afraid you won't be able to pay the fine on judgment day. Tough. I have no compassion for you. By the way, what do all of these other personal conditions have to do with the fact that your driving warranted a ticket? You can stay out of jail by driving correctly to start with, and by paying your fine in whatever way you have to and arranging your financial affairs to meet this expense caused by your on road irresponsibility.

In my area you can make payments to the circuit court clerk. But if you miss a few, you go straight to jail.

as a arkie myself your only realistic hope is to go before the judge and plead for the clemency of the court
